As of late, we have seen a lot of stars from other sports coming together to play an entertaining round of golf. With the banter and fun back-and-forth between players and the crowd, it makes for a unique situation for everyone involved.
Get ready for another installment that includes former NFL star Marshawn Lynch amongst many other star athletes, as there is set to be another great golf event about to begin.
What Is the Netflix Cup?
The Netflix Cup is a first-of-its-kind live golf event that features athletes from the hit series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and the golf documentary series “Full Swing” in a match-play tournament.
The event will take place at the 18-hole Wynn Golf Club at Wynn Las Vegas. It will act as the kick-off event for the week of the first-ever Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Who Is Playing?
The Netflix Cup will be played in two matches, with two pairs of athletes competing in each match. The winners from Match 1 and Match 2 will then compete in a final playoff for a chance to take home the Netflix Cup.
Match 1
Lando Norris (McLaren Racing) and Rickie Fowler vs. Carlos Sainz (Scuderia Ferrari) and Justin Thomas.
Match 2
Alex Albon (Williams Racing) and Max Homa vs. Pierre Gasly (BWT Alpine F1 Team) and Collin Morikawa.
Some of the biggest names in golf will be pairing up with the racing world’s biggest stars to battle it out on the course to see who will take home the coveted Netflix Cup.
NFL Flavor Within the Commentators
With these events, not only is the action on the course entertaining, but so is the list of commentators and announcers that emcee the event. The Netflix Cup is no different as the event will be emceed by sportscaster Kay Adams, PGA golfer Joel Dahmen, comedian Bert Kreischer, and legendary former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch.
When Is the Netflix Cup?
The tournament begins Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. ET. The anticipation is that this will be the biggest F1 event to date, and the Netflix Cup is just the beginning of what promises to be a fun week in Las Vegas for racing and golf fans alike.
