The Miami Dolphins‘ offense runs through WR Tyreek Hill, who might have an MVP case if the season ended today. But the NFL‘s best wideout went down with an injury on Monday Night Football. Here’s the latest on Hill.
Tyreek Hill Injury Update
Hill went down after catching a first-quarter pass from Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa. He grabbed at his left knee and initially appeared to be in serious pain.
However, Hill subsequently sprinted off the field and attempted to hype up the Miami crowd. He stood on the sideline for a few minutes and received no attention from the Dolphins’ medical staff.
Still, Hill eventually entered the blue medical tent on Miami’s sideline. The Dolphins announced that Hill is dealing with an ankle injury and is questionable to return.

Hill emerged from the medical tent but did not have his helmet. He appeared to be testing his ankle on the sideline.
Hill did not re-enter the game when the Dolphins’ offense took the field for its next drive, and he wasn’t present for the start of the second half. However, head coach Mike McDaniel told ESPN sideline reporter Laura Rutledge that Hill wanted to try to play in the third quarter.
Hill eventually left the locker room and returned to Miami’s sideline with roughly 11 minutes remaining in the third quarter. While he no longer had tape around his ankle, Hill did not have his helmet and was not wearing gloves.
At long last, Hill returned to game action with just under seven minutes remaining in the third quarter. All of Miami breathed a sigh of relief.
Injuries were an early problem for the Dolphins on Monday night. Fellow WR Jaylen Waddle and CB Xavien Howard visited the medical tent earlier in the first quarter but returned. Meanwhile, center Connor Williams was ruled out after suffering a knee injury.
What Would the Dolphins’ Offense Look Like Without Hill?
Hill is on a historic tear through the first 12 games of the season, with 93 receptions for 1,481 yards and 12 TDs heading into Monday Night Football. He’s averaged just over 10 targets per game, so his absence would open up a significant target share for the other Dolphins pass catchers.
If Hill misses any time in the coming weeks, look for WRs Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Braxton Berrios to receive more targets in the passing game. In addition, Tagovailoa’s fantasy value would take a massive hit while Hill is out of the lineup.
