Pro Days are vital to a potential NFL Draft prospect’s offseason, and we’ve seen players in the past elevate their draft stock significantly thanks to these. Amarius Mims took a big step forward after the NFL Combine but isn’t participating in the Georgia Bulldogs Pro Day.
What happened to the star tackle? We dive into his Pro Day absence and look at what it means for his draft stock.
Amarius Mims Misses Georgia Bulldogs Pro Day
Injuries were a theme during Mims’ time at Georgia. When he was in the lineup, he was the best lineman the Bulldogs had in 2023. When he got hurt, the offense unsurprisingly took a step back. One of his biggest concerns heading into the 2024 NFL Draft was his durability, and now it’s limiting him in an important event.
At the Combine, Mims measured 6’8″ and 340 pounds with long arms (36 1/8″) and huge hands (11 1/4″). Throw in a 5.07-second 40-yard dash, a 25.5″ vertical jump and 9’3″ broad jump at that size, and Mims was pushing his stock up in the first round.
While his performance was impressive, it also came at a cost.
He tweaked his hamstring running the 40-yard dash and eventually removed himself from the position drills. His goal was to rehab and prepare for the Georgia Pro Day, but he couldn’t get back to 100% for the March 13 event. He’s set to have a private workout for teams on April 10.
How will this affect his draft stock?
Teams shouldn’t find this injury as new information, as he struggled to stay healthy this past year.
The upside is hard to deny, but it doesn’t do teams any good if he’s not on the field.

Mims is a special talent with great size, and when healthy, he’s a monster on the offensive line. He showed off his explosiveness at the Combine, so there shouldn’t be any questions about his abilities. The private workout will help to show teams that he’s fully recovered and ready to go before the draft. Now, he just needs to avoid another setback.
