Will Aaron Rodgers Make His New York Jets Debut?

One of the biggest trades from the 2023 offseason featured the Jets acquiring Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers.

The two came to an agreement on April 24, sending Rodgers, picks No. 15 (EDGE Will McDonald IV), and 170 (S Chris Smith II) of the 2023 NFL Draft to the Jets in exchange for picks 13 (LB Lukas Van Ness), 42 (TE Luke Musgrave), and 207 (K Anders Carlson) in the 2023 NFL Draft as well as a conditional 2024 second-round pick that can become a first-round selection if Rodgers plays more than 65% of offensive snaps this season.

This is not the first time the Jets have plucked an aging star QB from the Packers’ roster. However, New York will be hoping for much better results this time around. With all the excitement to see Rodgers don the Jets’ jersey in action, will the four-time NFL MVP debut in the 2023 NFL Hall of Fame Game against the Cleveland Browns?

Unfortunately, New York fans will have to wait a bit longer to see their new field general take the field as Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed he would not be playing any starters in tonight’s HOF game.

Whether Saleh plans to play Rodgers in the preseason is yet to be seen. The worst-case scenario is that the Jets will wait until Week 1 when New York takes on the Buffalo Bills in their home opener.
