What to expect from tonight’s Cardinals vs. Rams NFL game?

Both starting QBs in tonight’s NFL Monday Night Football playoff game are searching for their first postseason win. While this game will be Murray’s postseason debut, Stafford has already been to the dance three times from his stint in Detroit. Unfortunately, Stafford lost all three times and has thrown 4 touchdowns to 3 interceptions in the playoffs. One can argue that there was not much support for Stafford in Detroit. However, the veteran QB’s season has been a roller coaster.

A hot start grew cold midway through November as Stafford threw 13 interceptions in the Rams’ last nine games. His touchdown-to-interception ratio went from 22:4 in Weeks 1-8 to 19:13 the rest of the season. These issues coincided with the loss of WR Robert Woods, but compared to other teams, Stafford retained a good portion of his playmakers all season. Week 18’s second-half collapse against San Francisco should have been a wake-up call for Los Angeles heading into this NFL game tonight.

Can Murray carry the offense without Hopkins?

Meanwhile, Arizona’s injury bug hampered expectations at the end of the regular season. Losing WR DeAndre Hopkins took a massive toll; Murray struggled against the Rams in Week 14 in his first game without the All-Pro WR since Arizona acquired him.

Week 17’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys helped to right the ship before the postseason, but Arizona has a tall task this week. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury confirmed they would be without Hopkins in this NFL Wild Card game, despite some optimism he would be activated from IR. Arizona’s banged-up backfield won’t do them any favors tonight, either. The Rams win this NFL game tonight on the back of Stafford, who’s ready to prove he’s the QB everyone expected him to be.
