Who airs the NFL game today? Here's the NFL Black Friday game channel and start time for the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets AFC East showdown.

After a three-game slate on Thanksgiving, the early football fun continues with the NFL‘s first-ever game on Black Friday, with the Miami Dolphins heading to MetLife Stadium for an AFC East tilt against the New York Jets.

When and where can you watch the NFL game today? Here’s the NFL Black Friday game channel, start time, and more for the showdown between the Dolphins and Jets.

What Channel Airs the NFL Game Today?

The Dolphins and Jets make NFL history by playing in the first Black Friday game ever scheduled. Why did the NFL schedule a game on Black Friday?

After striking a deal to become the home of Thursday Night Football, Amazon Prime has taken over broadcasting duties, except Thanksgiving when the usual trio of CBS, FOX, and NBC air the games. With Prime being the odd one out on Thanksgiving, the NFL decided to have another game on Friday to let Prime air a game in Week 12.

Miami and New York will kick off at 3 p.m. ET on Prime Video today. However, the game will be available to anyone with an Amazon account, even those without Amazon Prime.

    • Start time: 3 p.m. ET
    • Channel: Prime Video

While Miami hopes to get their offense on track after some subpar weeks, the Jets significantly changed their offensive personnel this week. New York’s offense has been abysmal under QB Zach Wilson this year. While not intending to start the third-year QB this year, the Achilles’ injury to Aaron Rodgers forced him back under center sooner than anticipated.

While not the worst, the Jets have the third-lowest scoring offense this season, averaging just 15 points a game. They are struggling to string together enough plays to make it past the 50-yard line.

Since Week 8, the Jets are running 27.7% of their offensive plays on the opponent’s side of the field and 5.1% of plays in the red zone — the worst in the NFL. On the other hand, the Dolphins have allowed opponents to run 31.5% of their plays in their territory, the best in the league.

With New York’s offense showing no improvement under Wilson, head coach Robert Saleh benched the former BYU QB, leaving Tim Boyle to start today.

MORE: Best of Luck, Tim Boyle

Boyle has been in the league for five years but has only started in three games. He went 0-3 for the Detroit Lions in 2021, throwing for 526 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions.

While Saleh is hoping Boyle can provide more of a spark than Wilson, it will still take a massive effort to keep up with a Dolphins offense that could only score 20 points and easily win. Gaining momentum and sustaining drives is the goal for the Jets until Rodgers returns under center.

    2023 Week 12 Schedule

With four games getting out of the way early, who else plays in Week 12? While no teams are on a bye, the four-game slate between Thanksgiving and Black Friday shortens the rest of the schedule to just 12 matchups. Here’s the rest of the 2023 Week 12 schedule.
