Week 17 Fantasy Dynasty Rankings: Who rose and fell this week?

The season is over for many fantasy managers. So now it’s time to look at your dynasty rosters more closely. In fantasy football, you always have to work on improving your team. Seeing what players have changed in value is a great way to spot trends before they appear. My Week 17 fantasy dynasty rankings had a lot of movement in the WR group while others didn’t move much, so let’s dive in!

Week 17 Fantasy Dynasty Rankings | Risers

QB — Josh Allen +4, Jalen Hurts +5

I’ve been low on Josh Allen this season largely due to his inconsistency and surrounding cast. He showed me this week that he has the talent needed to succeed long-term in the league and that he should be a top-five QB in dynasty. With the New England Patriots faltering, the Buffalo Bills look poised to dominate that division. That bodes well for Allen’s future consistency in fantasy as well.

Jalen Hurts was a riser last week and rises even more in my Week 17 fantasy dynasty rankings this week. He’s still a rookie that needs work, but now he’s right behind Tua Tagovailoa in my rankings. Hurts should be the Philadelphia Eagles QB going forward, and that definitely helps his dynasty value. He’s not quite a QB1, but he’s getting there.

RB — Aaron Jones +1, Antonio Gibson +2

It’s almost crazy that Aaron Jones is still producing like he is. Many dynasty managers were worried that the Green Bay Packers would phase him out this season, but they’ve done the opposite. The team has leaned on Jones more as the season’s gone along, making him a viable franchise tag candidate now. Jones staying on the team definitely increases his dynasty value and has him rising in my Week 17 fantasy dynasty rankings.

The future of the Washington Football Team is very much up in the air, but Antonio Gibson will likely be the starting running back for at least the next couple of years as the rest of the offense gets up to speed. The QB position will impact Gibson’s long-term value, so he’s not a sure thing, just yet.

WR — Justin Jefferson +3, Calvin Ridley +2

It’s time. Justin Jefferson has continually shown how dominant he can be on the field. It’s time that he gets into the top 5 of my dynasty rankings at WR. He and teammate Adam Thielen should continue to dominate next season and potentially beyond, making him a stud at the position already.

Calvin Ridley rises up my rankings once again this week. Everyone is wondering what he will do when Julio Jones leaves the team. The truth is, Ridley is already showing us what he’ll do. He’s been fine with Jones sidelined due to injury.

Ridley is easily worth a mid-WR1 value in dynasty leagues now.

TE — Darren Waller +1, Mike Gesicki +1

It’s surprising that Darren Waller has been able to continue his dominant season while on the Las Vegas Raiders. The team just feeds him the ball. He’s quickly approaching that tier one TE status, but for now, he’s solidly in that second tier for me.

Miami TE Mike Gesicki is deserving of a slight bump this week. He’s performing like the WR1 on the team and is doing well with the targets he’s getting. At tight end, that’s all it takes for an increase in value to me.

Week 17 Fantasy Dynasty Rankings | Fallers

QB — Lamar Jackson -1, Jared Goff -2

Lamar Jackson falls in my Week 17 fantasy dynasty rankings only because I moved Allen ahead of him slightly. Both are agile runners with teams that like to run, but Allen just feels more polished to me at the moment. Jackson’s floor is lower than we thought, but he’s still a top-five option in dynasty, no doubt.

The Los Angeles Rams and Jared Goff both scare me a little. They used to be as solid as they come. But lately, they just seem…off.

Maybe it’s the lack of a running game, which can be fixed, but I’m not thrilled about Goff in dynasty. He could turn it around this offseason, but I’m wary right now.

RB — Josh Jacobs -1, Chris Carson -1

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs slips in my Week 17 fantasy dynasty rankings as he’s done throughout the season. He’s getting the volume of a true RB1, but he’s struggled to produce like one down the stretch. It could just be injury, but it makes me nervous. Jacobs is still an RB1 in my rankings, but it’s tough to rely on him as a stud at the moment.

Chris Carson slips slightly, but that’s mainly due to the rise of J.K. Dobbins more than anything on Carson’s part. However, the Seattle Seahawks haven’t exactly been lighting things up either. Carson could be a riser down the road, but he’s not a solid RB1 option any longer.

WR — Michael Thomas -4, Terry McLaurin -2

My big faller on the week is New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas. He’s been a consistent WR1 option, but with his latest injury and uncertainty at the QB position, it’s hard to rely on him. Thomas could easily rise again, but for now, he worries me. He’s still top ten, but I’d take more clearcut options ahead of him at the moment.

My other WR faller this week is Terry McLaurin. He’s a terrific talent on the field, but the revolving door at the QB position has definitely hurt his production for fantasy. If the team makes a solid investment at QB, either in the draft or free agency, McLaurin could be scary again in no time.

TE — Mark Andrews -1, Evan Engram -1

Mark Andrews has long been in the top tier of tight ends in dynasty, but he’s now in the second tier for me. Waller passes him on volume alone, and if Andrews doesn’t start to see more attention, his value could drop even further in the future.

The New York Giants QB problems have translated into problems at the receiving positions. Evan Engram takes the hit this week, falling one spot in my Week 17 fantasy dynasty rankings. He has the talent but needs help to rise again. We shall see what the future holds for him and the other Giants’ pass catchers.
