Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart was one of the participants invited to this year’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Unlike the other top QB prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, Dart participated in the workouts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Ole Miss quarterback arguably had one of the best performances at this year’s Scouting Combine. However, his impressive arm strength and pass speed were what caught the attention of fans and NFL scouts.

Jaxson Dart Turns Head With Impressive Speed Test Stats
On Saturday, Jaxson Dart took to the field with an opportunity to improve his draft stock. And the quarterback did not disappoint with his performance. On social media, Dart garnered attention because a video of his speed test at the Combine went viral.
In the video, we see the Ole Miss quarterback hit 58mph during the speed test at the Combine. This impressive passing power and speed have certainly caught the interest of NFL teams and scouts wishing to draft a quarterback in April. You can check out Dart’s speed drill video below:

Apart from not participating in the 40-yard dash, Jaxson Dart did enough to make a case for himself. He earned a prospect grade of 6.19 for his Scouting Combine performance. The Ole Miss QB is projected to start as a backup and eventually bloom into a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL.
Coming out of high school, Jaxson Dart began his collegiate journey with USC in 2021. After just one season as a backup, he decided to enter the transfer portal and join Lane Kiffin’s team. Dart was immediately named as the starting quarterback of the Rebels.
During his three-season stint with Ole Miss, Dart recorded a total of 10,617 yards and 72 TDs passing. He was also honored as a First-Team All-SEC and won the Cornerly trophy for his performance on the field last season.
NFL Analyst Heaps Praise on Jaxson Dart’s Scouting Combine Performance
On an episode of ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’ after the Combine, analyst Mike Tannenbaum did not hold back with his praises for Jaxson Dart’s performance. He believes that the quarterback proved in Indianapolis that he should not be overlooked in the draft despite many experts claiming that this year’s QB class is weak.
Tannenbaum also went on to state that Dart could be a potential first-round pick in April.
“I thought he was clearly the best quarterback on the field yesterday, and in my mind, he is the No.3 quarterback in this year’s draft,” Tannenbaum said. “Built on a really strong week at Senior Bowl…I thought he threw with really good anticipation, good accuracy. Wasn’t perfect, as you alluded to, but again, he’s out working with his receivers.”
“I think you look at the first two with Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. To me, Jaxson Dart is clearly No.3, going in the first round.”
Dart is currently projected as an early second-round pick by the majority. However, Tannenbaum believes that he is looking like a strong candidate to have his name called in the first round in the top 20 at Green Bay in April.
