WATCH: Giants Legend Michael Strahan Fires Shots at Joe Schoen for Poor Roster Construction During Fox Broadcast

The drama just went up a notch.

New York Giants legend Michael Strahan turned up the heat during a recent Fox broadcast, throwing some serious shade at GM Joe Schoen’s roster moves.

Instead of sticking to the usual play-by-play, Strahan called out the construction of the Giants’ squad, sparking a whole lot of buzz.

Michael Strahan Rips Joe Schoen’s Roster Moves

On a recent Fox broadcast, former champ Strahan didn’t mince words when it came to Schoen’s roster moves, calling out the GM’s decisions in front of millions. Strahan kicked things off by taking a swipe at the Xavier McKinney situation.

He said, “That’s going to be the first battle. Xavier McKinney — co-leader in takeaways in the NFL, No. 2 in interceptions at the NFL — thank you New York Giants because if you let him go, will you let [Saquon Barkley] go? Well done!” Shots fired.

But Strahan didn’t stop there. He wasn’t just upset about McKinney. He’s got bigger beef with how Schoen’s built this team. Kayvon Thibodeaux? Evan Neal? Yeah, they’re not exactly lighting it up. In fact, the 2023 NFL Draft class looks like it might be more of a firecracker dud than a fireworks show.

Then there’s the win total. Under Schoen, the Giants have gone 18-32-1 (plus 1-1 in the playoffs) over three seasons with Brian Daboll, finishing a rough 3-14 this year. Plus, the team’s quarterback is still a massive question mark. The franchise QB search is like a never-ending Netflix series with no resolution in sight.

Some critics even argue the roster is bottom-of-the-barrel bad, with coaching getting its share of side-eye too.

Fans were quick to react to Strahan’s comments.

Giants Fans Respond to Strahan’s Critique of Schoen

Strahan’s recent comments about Giants GM Schoen have fans buzzing.

Fans echoed Strahan’s frustration, with one simply stating, “I’ll never understand letting Xavier go.” The defensive standout’s departure stung, especially after his impressive interception-snagging campaign.

Others joined in, pointing out how Barkley’s struggles in New York were evident when compared to his explosive season with the Philadelphia Eagles. One fan tweeted, “Don’t forget about what was said on the live broadcast about how Saquon has never seen the running holes like he does in Philly.”

The anger didn’t stop there. “The Giants are the laughing stock of the NFL,” one fan bluntly stated, summarizing the sentiment of many who feel the team’s struggles are impossible to ignore.

And of course, the draft picks didn’t escape unscathed. “Letting 2 of your best players walk for nothing & them having their best seasons … Schoen deserves it,” said another fan, reflecting frustration over the team’s decisions.

But amid the negativity, a fan added some humor: “You know it’s bad when even Michael Strahan wants to cry but has to smile like the rest of us,” poking fun at Strahan’s visible discomfort.

Guess the Giants fans are seriously fed up.
