WATCH: Colorado Star Travis Hunter Plays This or That, WR/DB Edition Amid Debate About His NFL Position

Colorado Buffaloes WR/CB Travis Hunter drops bold statements on playing both ways in the NFL through a lighthearted game of this or that.

Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter is among the most hyped-up players of the 2025 NFL Draft class. Several analysts consider him the best player this year, with a high potential of going No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

While Hunter’s ability to play on both sides of the ball is no secret to anyone, there is much debate in the football world on whether he should play as a defensive back or as a wide receiver in the NFL.

Travis Hunter Makes Thought Process Clear on WR/DB Debate With Fun This-or-That Game

Both Hunter and his head coach, Deion Sanders, have made it clear that they want the Colorado star to play both ways in the NFL, just as he did in college. Coach Prime even suggested to teams not to pick Hunter if they’re not ready to give him the opportunity.

Hunter’s two-way skills were one of the most talked about in college football last season, but many analysts believe it’s not a good idea for him to play both ways in the NFL. However, this does not affect Hunter’s thought process, who made it clear that he would like to continue playing both ways during a lighthearted game of this and that.

The Colorado star started the segment with a subtle statement saying, “I’m the only one to do this one,” followed by a quick introduction.

When asked what he would choose between a defensive touchdown and an offensive score, Hunter chose the former because they are rare to come by. When asked whether he’d silence the crowd as a DB or a WR, he said defensive back.

The next question had Hunter in a pickle as he had to recall his best play, to which he said, “That’s good because my best play is on the defensive side of the ball, but when I was in high school, my best play was on the offensive side of the ball.

“My DB one was Baylor,  overtime, when i forced a fumble. Offense is in high school, when I jumped over the top of somebody and caught the ball on the top of hs head, it was crazy.”

When asked which position he would rather trash talk in, Hunter shared that it was probably wide receiver, even though he doesn’t trash talk in the game.

Hunter also shared that he would like to be both Offensive Rookie of the Year and Defensive ROTY and would rather play both sides than choose one.
