The Buffaloes are ready for their first bowl game under the tutelage of Coach Prime, who has helped Colorado become a new force. The NFL Hall of Famer translated his exemplary athletic career into coaching, and two years into his experiment, the Buffs are now near the top of the Big 12 standings. They’ll play in the Alamo Bowl against BYU on Dec. 28 in San Antonio at the Alamodome.
His athletes continue mirroring his energy, with Sanders is hard at work building a close-knit team. For their Christmas Day celebrations, they spent the holiday in San Antonio, visiting SeaWorld. There, they swam with dolphins and immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the water park.
Coach Prime’s Colorado Buffaloes Recreate Baywatch Moments
One of their jaunts exemplified the meaning of “Prime Time” as they recreated a fun scene from “Baywatch,” the popular beach-centric TV show. Junior running back Charlie Offerdahl was asked to flip his hair by his teammates and was called “Baywatch Offerdahl” because of his surfer-like look.

Offerdahl rushed for 119 yards on 26 carries with one score in the 2024 campaign.
Coach Prime also enjoyed his time at SeaWorld, even riding the Great White roller coaster.
In a Facebook post, he said: “I want to thank everyone at SeaWorld for having us here, they hosted both teams. It was extraordinary, it was wonderful. I even got on the ride, but loved the games even more, but the games are phenomenal. All our kids had a wonderful time, God bless you SeaWorld.”
Sanders also competed against his NFL-bound players, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, shooting hoops inside fishing nets. After winning, he walked away with a stuffed toy in hand.
Coach Prime also made Christmas extra special for his team by creating a new Colorado tradition. He asked each player to draw a teammate’s name and buy them a gift.
“We’re going to pull names of your positions and we’re going to take a bus to the mall. Correct. Yes, we’re gonna take the bus to the mall and you gonna have to buy your teammate. Whoever name you pull or give up to 100 dollars no more, no less.”

Apart from his visit to SeaWorld, the Colorado coach also explored the hustle and bustle of the city. He visited the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts and checked out other local spots around downtown.
Amid all the fun with his athletes, it’s hard to give voice to rumors suggesting that Coach Prime might leave for the NFL, following his sons, who have declared for the draft next year. He has made his stance clear about wanting to stay in Colorado, but the rumor mill continues to churn.
