Week 15 brings the thick of the 2020 fantasy football playoffs to the forefront, making those all-important waiver claims as crucial as ever. Let’s take a look at who are the top targets and potential pickups on the Week 15 waiver wire, including Chicago Bears QB Mitch Trubisky.
Waiver Wire Targets Week 15: Quarterbacks
Let’s take a look at a few of the best quarterback options.
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (at Cardinals)
Hurts proved me wrong last week against one of the best defenses in the NFL. I’m all in now! 106 rushing yards, 167 passing yards, and Hurts has injected newfound life into the Eagles team. Eagles players are playing hard for the rookie. Arizona has given up the fifth-most rushing yards to opposing QBs.
Mitch Trubisky, Chicago Bears (at Vikings)
This is the third week in a row that I am recommending Mitch Trubisky. Since getting to start again, Mitch Trubisky is helping fantasy folks win their matchups, and could be the sneaky good streamer to help win a championship. He is averaging over 20 fantasy points each week and has a favorable matchup against the Vikings on Sunday.
Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts (vs. Texans)
This Texans defense has been a fantasy quarterback’s best holiday gift this season. Gunslingers are averaging over 300 passing yards and over 20 fantasy points each week. T.Y. Hilton has finally come alive, and this matchup should be a barn burner.
Other quarterbacks to consider adding in Week 15:
- Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders (vs. Chargers)
- Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers (at Packers)
- Nick Mullens, San Francisco 49ers (at Cowboys)
Waiver Wire Pickups Week 15: Running Backs
Let’s take a look at a few of the best running back options.
DeAndre Washington, Miami Dolphins (vs. Patriots)
The Dolphins are dealing with a slew of injuries, especially in the running back room. Myles Gaskin, Matt Breida, and Salvon Ahmed are all hobbled. Washington could get a ton of volume if he is the only active back in this group come Sunday against the Patriots.
Jeff Wilson, San Francisco 49ers (at Cowboys)
Wilson is getting work in the 49ers’ backfield, splitting carries with Raheem Mostert. Wilson is also the featured back in the red zone. This week Wilson gets a juicy matchup against a Cowboys defense that is getting absolutely destroyed by opposing ball carriers.

Though the Shanahan committee is something to mistrust as a fantasy football manager because it can seemingly turn at any moment, the fact that Wilson is getting preference in the red zone has me targeting him above the other 49ers’ RB options.
Other running backs to consider adding in Week 15:
- Lynn Bowden, Jr., Miami Dolphins (vs. Patriots) — Bowden may have WR eligibility in your league!
- Phillip Lindsay, Denver Broncos (vs. Bills)
- Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys (vs. 49ers)
- Peyton Barber, Washington Football Team (vs. Seahawks)
- Trayveon Williams, Cincinnati Bengals (vs. Steelers)
Waiver Wire Targets Week 15: Wide Receivers
Let’s take a look at a few of the best wide receiver options.
Keke Coutee, Houston Texans (at Colts)
I was expecting more volume for Coutee last week. He only had three receptions for 24 yards. Good thing he found the end zone and salvaged the lack of volume. I’m going to keep it rolling with Coutee this week. With a game script of the Texans having to keep up with Rivers and his Colts crew, I like his opportunity.

The Texans have limited receiving options, and if Cooks is out of the game again, Coutee is by far the most experienced receiver on the roster. Look for the third-year pro out of Texas Tech to have a big finish to the 2020 season.
Tim Patrick, Denver Broncos (vs. Bills)
Patrick was on my radar last week, and I’m teeing him up again. He has delivered this year in fantasy as a steady WR3/flex play. Patrick has found the end zone in his last two games and will continue to be a scoring target for Drew Lock.
Nelson Agholor, Las Vegas Raiders (vs. Chargers)
Agholor has been in this column all season long. Seems like each and every week I’m recommending him to be added to rosters. The Raiders are struggling to run the ball as of late, especially with the injury to Josh Jacobs. The Raiders have been forced to go to the air, and Agholor has benefited with over 35 targets this past month.
Other wide receivers to consider adding in Week 15:
- Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons (vs. Buccaneers)
- Rashard Higgins, Cleveland Browns (at Giants)
- Gabriel Davis, Buffalo Bills (at Broncos)
- Emmanuel Sanders, New Orleans Saints (vs. Chiefs)
- Chad Hansen, Houston Texans (at Colts)
- John Brown, Buffalo Bills (at Broncos) — coming off of injured reserve!
Waiver Wire Pickups Week 15: Tight Ends
Logan Thomas, Washington Football Team (vs. Seahawks)
I like the chemistry between Thomas and Alex Smith, as evidenced by Thomas getting 20 targets in his last three games. My only concern is Smith’s injury, and hoping Smith is good to start this week over Dwayne Haskins. Definitely, something to keep an eye on as future injury reports will illuminate the severity of the injury.
Other tight ends to consider adding in Week 15:
- Dalton Schultz, Dallas Cowboys (vs. 49ers)
- Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears (at Vikings)
- Jordan Akins, Houston Texans (at Colts)
- Irv Smith, Minnesota Vikings (vs. Bears)
Waiver Wire Targets: Defense
- Cleveland Browns (vs. Giants)
- Washington Football Team (vs. Seahawks)
