Football players are some of the toughest athletes in the world. However, being hurt and being injured are two different things, and sometimes you may just need a little tough love to get yourself over the mental hurdle associated with the pain.
Such was the case for Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill last night. Hill, in what would eventually be a loss in tough fashion to the Tennessee Titans, got banged up and had to come out of the game at one point. However, Hill’s absence wasn’t all that long, and we have his wife to thank for that.
Tyreek Hill Reveals Wife’s Hilarious Response to Injury
Not only is Hill one of the best players in the NFL — and a real non-QB MVP candidate — but he’s also one of the funniest players in the league.
That last part rang true even in defeat as Hill revealed how and why he was able to get back in last night’s game despite injuring his ankle early in the contest. And it’s all thanks to Mrs. Hill.
“I texted my wife and I was like, ‘This S*** hurt,’ Hill started. “I need an ankle massage tonight, and she’s like, ‘You’d better get your a** back in that game, dog,’ I was like ‘Alright.'”
Sometimes it’s better to just listen to your significant other, which is what Hill did by going back into the game. But while he did return to action, Hill was limited and seen on the sideline in some big moments throughout the game.
It was a mild impact game for Hill’s own standards as he finished with four receptions, 61 receiving yards, and zero touchdowns on the night.
Tough Loss for Hill and the Dolphins
Despite Hill’s best efforts to return to the game and make an impact, it wasn’t enough for the Dolphins last night, as they suffered their fourth loss of the season.
Despite holding a double-digit lead deep into the fourth quarter, the Dolphins were unable to contain Will Levis and Co. He was able to march the Titans’ offense down the field and win the game with a late touchdown, 28-27.

As a result, Miami falls a game behind the Baltimore Ravens for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, with a tough stretch coming up that has them facing the likes of the Dallas Cowboys, Ravens, and Buffalo Bills to finish out the year.
