MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Tyreek Hill hasn’t just played in every game since his trade to the Miami Dolphins in 2022; he has missed just one game in the last four seasons.
Hill’s regular-season streak of 41 straight games played might be in jeopardy, however. He didn’t practice Wednesday with a hip injury, and his teammates didn’t exactly seem full of confidence that the NFL’s leading receiver will be available this Sunday against the New England Patriots.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

“That’s above my pay grade,” Jaylen Waddle said Wednesday when asked if he thinks Hill will be available in Week 8.

Added Tua Tagovailoa: “You know, if we couldn’t have Tyreek, that would be tough. But the show goes on. You gotta continue to play and, somewhere down the line, we’re gonna get Tyreek back and, you know, it has to be one of those things where you never lift your foot off the gas, and you don’t lose that rhythm as a team or as a unit.”
The Dolphins lead the league in every major offensive category, and Hill is first in the league in receiving yards (902) and touchdowns (7).
Wednesday was the first practice Hill has missed all season and just the second time he was anything but a full participant in practice. (Hill was limited for one day with an ankle injury in Week 3.)

The last time Hill missed a game? Week 17 of 2020, which he sat out with a hamstring injury. Hill has only missed six games in his eight-year NFL career.
“Yeah, it was a little weird,” Tagovailoa said of Hill’s absence Wednesday. “It was a little weird not having someone like Tyreek out there, his leadership, his aura. But, you know, it calls for other guys to step up in his room.
“You know, Jaylen, I think Jaylen had a really good practice today. [Cedrick Wilson] had a really good practice. A lot of guys had good practices today, especially being a Wednesday. So yeah, not having someone like Tyreek is hard, but that calls for the guys to step up.”
Tua added: “Yeah, I don’t think anyone can emulate what Tyreek does on the field — his speed, his cuts in and out of breaks. I don’t think there’s anyone that can emulate him. He’s in his own league; he’s one of a kind. But needless to say, you know, I think people forget about the things that Jaylen Waddle can do, the things that he already has done for our team since his rookie year. And there’s a lot of other guys, I think that, you know, you can’t sleep on.”
