Tyreek Hill Injury Update: Dolphins Star WR Impacted by Ankle Issue

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill sustained an apparent injury early in Friday's game against the Jets. Here is the latest information on the Miami star.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill appeared to tweak his left ankle while making his first catch of the game Friday against the New York Jets. Here is the latest information on the speedy receiver.

    Latest Tyreek Hill Injury Update

On the Dolphins’ first possession, Hill got behind Jets cornerback D.J. Reed on a go route and pulled in a 35-yard catch down the left sideline.

But Hill’s foot got caught and twisted in Reed’s tackle, sending him hopping to the sidelines. Hill went to get the ankle taped and missed two snaps before he returned to action. He seemed fine, catching a first-down pass a few snaps later.

Hill fought through the issue and even scored the team’s first touchdown on a seven-yard catch and run. But after the TD, Hill had a pronounced limp.

It’s the second straight game Hill got banged up. He hurt his hand during the Dolphins’ Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and he told the Amazon Prime broadcast team before the game that it is still bothering him.

Fantasy Implications of Possible Hill Injury

Hill is an integral part of this Miami offense — and fantasy football managers’ lineups — so to have him miss time with an injury would be devastating. His big-play ability and role in this offense has had him consistently in the top five of fantasy WR rankings all season long.

If Hill were to miss extended time with an injury, Jaylen Waddle would certainly move to a top option in fantasy rankings due to the lack of target competition in this WR room. Cedrick Wilson Jr. may move up to a Flex option, but it’s highly likely that Waddle and the RBs out of the backfield would see the biggest bump in opportunity if Hill is forced to miss time.
