Tyreek Hill is a man who never really lets NFL fans know his next move or what he’s thinking.
After a Week 18 fiasco during which he essentially gave up on the Miami Dolphins season, Hill is back with some mixed messaging for his quarterback.
Tyreek Hill Blind-Ranks Tua Tagovailoa at No. 1 on QB List
Hill got onto TikTok and publicly played a blind-ranking game of current NFL quarterbacks. “The Cheetah” started by ranking Lamar Jackson at the No. 2 spot and slotted Josh Allen at No. 3
Dak Prescott followed at No. 4, while Broncos rookie sensation Bo Nix found himself at the bottom of Hill’s top 10. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts wound up at No. 7 on his list before Hill ranked his current signal-caller, Tua Tagovailoa, at No. 1 when the latter popped up as an option.

Hill finished his list by ranking Jayden Daniels ninth, Kirk Cousins eighth, Brock Purdy sixth, and Jared Goff fifth. For some reason, the game didn’t show his one-time Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes as an option.
Hill’s high ranking for Tagovailoa was hardly an aberration. While Hill has had a fallout with the Dolphins and seems to want a trade away from Miami, he has been a steadfast supporter of the Alabama quarterback throughout his three seasons in South Florida.
Tagovailoa and Hill had two fruitful seasons together in 2022 and 2023. The southpaw quarterback had an especially productive 2023 campaign, leading the Dolphins to an 11-6 record. However, both seasons ended in playoff failure for the franchise.
Tagovailoa had several injury setbacks in 2024, including a concussion early on in the season. He also sat out Miami’s Week 17 and 18 games against the Browns and Jets, respectively, due to a hip issue. His injuries were a large part of the Dolphins’ struggles this year.
Tagovailoa finished the 2024 season ranked at No. 8 (85.6) with a B grade on PFN’s QB+ rankings. He undoubtedly remains a quality quarterback, although his numbers with a clean pocket fell significantly this year.
Whether or not Hill returns to the Dolphins for the 2025 NFL season, the Dolphins have to stick with Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.
