Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill has been one of the best players in fantasy football for over half a decade. Coming off the best season of his career, but one where he broke down toward the end, is he worth being one of the first players off the board in 2024 Best Ball drafts?
Tyreek Hill’s 2024 Fantasy Outlook
We are nearing the point of Hill’s career where he won’t be a slam-dunk WR1 — but we’re not there yet. While Hill will inevitably see a decline in talent at some point in the next few years, there’s no reason to think it will happen this year at age 30.
Entering the twilight of his career, how should fantasy football managers value Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill in dynasty leagues moving forward? https://t.co/VkJep6PHI9

Hill has now finished inside the top 12 fantasy receivers every year since 2017. He’s averaged over 20 fantasy points per game a total of four times in his career, including each of the last two seasons. Somehow, the best season of his career came without Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.
Last season, Hill averaged 23.5 fantasy points per game, finishing as the overall WR2 behind Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb. Hill likely would’ve finished as the WR1 had a late-season ankle injury not limited his production.
The injury wound up costing Hill just one game (although he was limited in two others). Overall, Hill has been remarkably durable throughout his career, missing just five games due to injury.
Hill boasts what may well be the most unique combination of speed and volume in NFL history. He doesn’t need volume to produce, but he gets it because he’s just that good.
Hill led the NFL with a 33.7% target share last season. He also led the league with his 36.9% targets-per-route-run rate. Unsurprisingly, he also led all receivers with 3.88 yards per route run. It’s extremely difficult to be that efficient on significant volume. Hill is in a category of one when it comes to wide receivers in NFL history.
Should You Draft Hill in 2024 Best Ball Leagues?
When it comes to the top half of the first round, you really can’t go wrong. We’re talking about the elite of the elite.
Over the past couple of years, it’s become more and more advantageous to build Best Ball rosters around wide receivers. Hill is my overall WR1 for the 2024 season in all redraft formats.

We have no reason to believe the Dolphins’ offense will change in any meaningful way. Head coach Mike McDaniel is a brilliant play-caller and is able to scheme the ball to his best players even when defenses know he’s doing it. Hill should once again be primed for a massive season.
The elite running back remains the most valuable asset in fantasy football. However, there’s a serious case to be made that there is exactly one player that qualifies. If you pick first overall, draft San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey. If you pick anywhere else and Hill is available, draft Hill.
