All throughout the NFL, there are teams that are having to deal with injuries. One of those teams is the Seattle Seahawks, who are coming off a 37-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday.
The Seahawks’ skilled players have especially been dealing with injuries. Tyler Lockett, Kenneth Walker III, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are all three dealing with injury issues as Seattle hosts the Washington Commanders in Week 10. How do they impact each player’s fantasy football ranking for this week?
Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy
Tyler Lockett
In the last month, Lockett has pretty much lived on the injury report, with this being the fourth consecutive week he’s been listed. He’s been battling a hamstring injury, but he has been able to play in all three of those games.
Lockett has avoided a final designation on the injury report in a couple of those games, and the expectation is that he will be playing on Sunday. In the three games he has played that he was on the injury report, he has 15 catches for 151 yards and one touchdown.
This could be a perfect matchup for Lockett, as the Commanders aren’t good against the pass. The team currently ranks 27th in stopping the pass, allowing 252.7 passing yards per game. While it appears to be all good for Lockett moving forward, what about his other two teammates who are dealing with injuries?
Editor’s note: Lockett was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday and is not on the final injury report.
Kenneth Walker III
While things are looking good for Lockett to be able to go, things aren’t as optimistic for Walker. He was unable to go at Wednesday’s practice because of a chest injury, and in the game against the Ravens, Walker had only nine carries for a season-low 16 yards.
Fantasy managers should follow this over the next 24 hours to see how his status changes. Friday practices are always the big one to look at, as the team is going to do a walkthrough of the offensive game plan.
With the injury to Walker in mind, fantasy managers should also be considering signing Zach Charbonnet off the waiver wire. Third-string RB DeeJay Dallas also missed practice, so Charbonnet could be in line for a big day.
Editor’s note: Walker was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday and is not on the final injury report.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Like Walker, Smith-Njigba was not a participant at Wednesday’s practice, as he is battling with a hip injury.
JSN has continued to become a focal point of the Seahawks’ offense, as he had six catches for 63 yards last week against Baltimore. In the previous two weeks, he was able to get in the end zone for a touchdown.
As mentioned, this is a favorable matchup for the Seahawks — especially for their receivers. The Commanders have given up at least 30 points in five of nine games this season, so if Smith-Njigba is healthy and able to go, he could be in line for a big day.
Editor’s note: Smith-Njigba was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday and is not on the final injury report.
