With Tony Pollard out, the Tennessee Titans looked to Tyjae Spears to lead their backfield. He was dominating touches and producing quite well before he went to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. What is the latest on Spears’ status?
What Happened to Tyjae Spears?
Spears already missed time earlier this season with a concussion. It would be very unfortunate if he sustained a second one.
The Titans entered this game without Pollard, who is dealing with an ongoing ankle injury and also had the flu. At the time of his exit, Spears had 20 carries for 95 yards and three receptions for eight yards.
Spears was taken to the blue tent and then sent to the locker room for further tests. It’s worth noting that Spears has been wearing a Guardian Cap since sustaining his last concussion. Julius Chestnut is the next man up if Spears cannot return.
Potential Fantasy Fallout From Spears’ Injury
There’s not much here for fantasy, with this being the final week of the season. Tennessee is currently playing out a lost season. If Spears is concussed, expect him to be out next week and for Pollard to likely return, as he has some incentives in his contract that he will want to reach. If Pollard cannot play, either, Chestnut would start.
