The Miami Dolphins are 7-3 heading into Week 12 and are still in the race for the top seed in the AFC Playoffs. One of the major reasons why they’ve won so many games is their quarterback.
Tua Tagovailoa has been performing at his best. He’s passed for 2,934 yards, 21 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 2023.
And though he’s having a great season, things are going pretty well off the field too. What do we know about his $1.5 million Florida home?
Tua Tagovailoa’s $1.6 Million Florida Home
Tagovailoa was taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Being that high of a draft pick, he signed a four-year, $30.275 million contract with a fifth-year option. The entire contract was guaranteed and included a $19,578,500 signing bonus.
One of his first purchases was a new home. In July of 2020, he bought his house for $1.6 million. It’s estimated that the home has gained $1 million in value since then. The home is located within 15 minutes of the Dolphins’ Baptist Health Training Facility.

Some other features of the home include a large backyard, high ceilings, two stories, a spacious kitchen, a library, and a built-in electric fireplace.

Tagovailoa and his family are from Oahu, Hawaii. He attended St. Louis School prior to committing to and playing for the University of Alabama. That’s where his legacy was born.
In three seasons at Alabama, Tagovailoa passed for 7,442 yards, 87 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
He also rushed for 340 yards and nine touchdowns. His career was highlighted by winning the offensive MVP of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Tagovailoa was on pace to potentially win the Heisman in 2019, but his season was cut short by a hip injury. Tagovailoa spent most of his rookie season alternating between backup and starter. He became the primary starter in 2021 and hasn’t looked back since.
