‘There Are Some Compelling Reasons’ – NFL Legend Troy Aikman Believes Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Could Lure Deion Sanders From Colorado

The Deion Sanders to Dallas Cowboys rumor has a fan in Troy Aikman, who details why he believes a deal could happen.

The 2024 NFL season has been a major disappointment for the Dallas Cowboys. Whether the cause was injuries or inadequate coaching, Dallas’ 6-8 record has been a far cry from the three straight 12-win seasons they had previously. As a result, some major changes might be underway in Dallas this offseason.

And where Troy Aikman is concerned, the conversation begins with a change on the sidelines with the head coach. He even has a clear name in mind for who takes over the job.

According to Aikman, the legendary Deion Sanders could make his way back to Cowboy Nation due to what he deems “compelling reasons.”

Deion Sanders Back in Dallas? Troy Aikman Thinks It’s Possible

Since the rumors first began, Sanders has time and again shut down any interest in a reunion with Dallas. According to him, his commitment and loyalty to the Colorado Buffaloes are more important than seeking out the big-name value.

Nevertheless, Aikman believes a deal is possible. After all, a legendary name who is genuinely in tune with the team’s ins and outs and has a valuable national TV platform, Aikman would be the best bet to predict how the situation unfolds.

And he believes a head coaching vacancy could lure Sanders back to Dallas.

“I do know that Jerry [Jones], he’s a world-class marketer,” Aikman told TMZ Sports. “Deion is obviously not far behind that, and I think if you were to put the two together, it would be quite interesting. I think there’s some compelling reasons as to why Jerry might have an interest.

“I do know that Deion’s done a great job there in Boulder, and when he says, ‘Hey, I’ve put the kickstand down,’ that’s simply alerting everyone that if you want him, you’re going to have to pay for it, which is not a surprise, either,” Aikman said.

“I do think that Deion could be enticed, especially with his son moving on and going to the NFL. (Kickstands) are not welded to the ground; you can raise them.”

The kickstand comment that Aikman was talking about is, of course, in relation to Sanders’ comments earlier in the week. While shutting down the idea of moving away from Colorado, Sanders said, “I’m happy where I am, man. I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? … That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”

The Cowboys might need a change, with fans growing ever anxious without a Super Bowl. Nearly three decades since the last one, a familiar face leading the charge might be the answer for Dallas.
