The Tennessee Titans have learned the hard way that trading a proven commodity for a draft pick to select a player with a similar prospect profile doesn’t always work out the way you planned.
After trading away WR A.J. Brown for a first-round pick during the 2022 NFL Draft, the selection of Treylon Burks hasn’t panned out through the first two years of his NFL career.
What is Burks’ dynasty fantasy football outlook heading into a crucial third season in the league?
Treylon Burks’ Dynasty Outlook
Most dynasty managers would consider Burks’ rookie campaign — which consisted of 33 receptions for 444 yards and one score — a disappointment.

Well, if 2022 was a fantasy disappointment, then 2023 was a fantasy disaster. Burks’ production was cut in half in his second season, catching just 16 passes for 221 yards and no scores. Yikes.
Another growing concern for dynasty shareholders has to be his issues with injuries through his first two years. He has missed 12 of the first 34 games of his NFL career.
Despite the Titans potentially going through some positive offensive changes on the coaching staff this offseason with the hire of Brian Callahan — who was the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals — there is still a ton of uncertainty surrounding this offense heading into 2024.
Will Levis is still a young developing quarterback, and DeAndre Hopkins is still under contract for next year, which could make it difficult to project a Burks breakout in his third season.

Should You Trade Burks in Dynasty?
Are you considering trading Burks? Our free PFN Trade Analyzer allows you to find the best trade offer to make in seconds!
Dynasty managers who invested first-round rookie draft capital on Burks two years ago have undoubtedly been disappointed with the first two seasons’ worth of lackluster production.
His lack of production and history of durability concerns in an offense without a proven commodity under center makes his current value far lower than what you paid for him on draft day less than 24 months ago.
MORE: Dynasty vs. Keeper Leagues
Burks’ age and physical tools with a new coaching staff could inject a bit of life into his fantasy value in 2024, but dynasty managers aren’t likely to pay any sort of premium after his rough start.
Personally, I would be far more interested in trying to acquire Burks at a major discount with a third-round rookie pick in this upcoming draft.
If you are hoping to trade Burks off of your roster, then I would be prepared to accept diminished returns.
