CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and defensive end Trey Hendrickson are each headed to the Pro Bowl for a third consecutive year.
Chase joins A.J. Green, Cris Collinsworth, and Bob Trumpy as the only Bengals in team history to be named to the Pro Bowl in each of their first three seasons. Green holds the team record by making it in each of his first seven seasons.
Hendrickson joins Geno Atkins (six), Lemar Parrish (five), and David Fulcher (three) as the only Bengals defensive players to earn at least three consecutive Pro Bowl invitations.
Cincinnati Bengals Send Two Players to the Pro Bowl
Running back Joe Mixon is the first alternate in the AFC, and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is a third alternate. If both end up making it due to opt-outs or players ahead of them reaching the Super Bowl, it would mark the most Bengals in the Pro Bowl since 2016 when they sent five.
There no longer is a Pro Bowl game, but rather a series of AFC vs. NFC skill competitions over a two-day period the weekend before the Super Bowl.
Hendrickson heads into the final week of the season tied for the NFL lead in sacks with 17, and he is bidding to become the first Bengals player in franchise history to lead the league in sacks since it became an official statistic in 1982.
In addition to being tied for the league lead in sacks with 17, Trey Hendrickson is tied for the biggest gap between team leader and next highest sack total in #Bengals history with 12.

The highest finisher in team history is Carlos Dunlap who was fourth in 2015 with 13.5; Hendrickson was fifth in 2021 with 14.
“He’s incredibly explosive,” Bengals right tackle Jonah Williams said, who went head-to-head against Hendrickson in training camp in 2021 and 2022 as the team’s left tackle.
“I think his first step, his first couple of steps, are the fastest of anyone I’ve ever gone against the NFL,” Williams continued. “So it puts tackles in a position where you really have to beat him off the snap because, if you’re late at all, he’s got the edge.
“Trey’s done an unbelievable job,” Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard added. “He’s had a career year. I’m happy for him.”
Chase enters the season finale with a career-high 96 receptions for 1,197 yards and seven touchdowns. He is battling a shoulder injury but has said he “probably” will play on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns with a shot at finishing the season with 100 catches.
If Mixon ends up going as a first alternate, it would be his second selection but first appearance. He was named to the team in 2021 but skipped it due to the Bengals being in Super Bowl LVI.

With 923 yards, Mixon needs 77 in Sunday’s finale to record his fourth career 1,000-yard season and first since 2021 when he had a career-high 1,205.
Mixon also has 51 catches for 370 yards this season, giving him an outside shot at setting new career highs in both. He set those marks last year with 60 receptions for 370 yards.
His 1,293 scrimmage yards are the second most in franchise history among running backs in their seventh season or later. James Brooks holds the record with 1,545 in his ninth season in 1989.
If Brown ends up making it as a third alternate, it will be his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl. He earned selections in 2019 and 2020 with the Baltimore Ravens and in 2021 and 2022 with the Kansas City Chiefs.
