Trevor Lawrence’s Wife Jokes How QB’s Shoulder Injury Is Making Life Difficult

Born on Jan. 4, Shae weighed in at a healthy 10 pounds, two ounces. Marissa shared the joyous news on Instagram, writing, “Mommy and daddy love you so much!!! Thank you Jesus for our girl!!”

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2021, shared a heartwarming hospital photo featuring Marissa, Trevor, and their newborn. Wearing a “Girl Dad” cap, Trevor also sported an arm sling from his recent shoulder surgery, which is causing complexity to their new parenting journey. Today, Marissa posted an IG story featuring the couple’s daughters Nana and Grandma, who are helping out Marissa.

She captioned the photo: “Nana and Grandma have been here helping (It’s a little hard with Trevor only having one arm haha) and it has been so special and sweet. We definitely will miss their help and snuggles. 🖤 So grateful for their love and support. It really does take a village and I love ours.”

Lawrence’s shoulder surgery is the latest in a series of injuries that have plagued the Jaguars star over the past two seasons. The franchise quarterback, who signed a $275 million contract, played only 10 games in 2024 owing to various injuries, including a concussion, ankle and knee issues, and an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder.

The decision to shut him down for surgery was a tough call but necessary for his long-term health. The setback may disappoint Lawrence, but the 25-year-old remains determined to return stronger. Speaking to reporters, the Jaguars QB shared his commitment to staying on the field.

“Being the franchise quarterback, I have to be out there, I have to be on the field, and I have to be available,” Lawrence admitted. “The main thing is I’ve just got to be healthy and whether that’s getting stronger this offseason. Just doing my part to stay out there and not taking unnecessary risks when I need to be healthy for the season for one play.”

Marissa’s playful dig at her husband’s one-arm parenting efforts aside, the No.1 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft is focusing on rehabilitation. Lawrence wants to shake off any “injury-prone” labels and get back as soon as possible to lead the Jaguars, who had a dismal 4-13 season in 2024. Jaguars fans are hopeful that 2025 will mark Trevor’s return to full health and the team’s resurgence.
