The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game by a score of 32-29 in a game that was nothing short of a thriller. Chiefs Kingdom will now march to New Orleans to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had nothing but praise for his teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kelce talked to the media after the win over the Bills and heaped praises on the Chiefs’ QB for a clinical performance in another high-stakes fixture.

Mahomes completed 18 of 26 pass attempts for 245 yards and a touchdown against Buffalo. He also ran for two additional scores with 43 rushing yards.
Mahomes has a 1-4 record against the Bills in the regular season, but he extended his postseason record against Buffalo to 4-0 after his exceptional performance in the AFC Championship Game. And now, the Chiefs are headed to their fifth Super Bowl in the last six years and are on the verge of becoming the first to complete a three-peat in NFL history.
Kelce was asked if his presence opens things up for wide receivers Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
“Listen, we were out there; everybody was doing their job today. And that’s why we put up so many points, and that’s why we scored touchdowns today,” Kelce began.
“15 was playing the best he’s played all year,” he added. “That’s what you want to see going into the last game of the year.”

“I love this defense, man…They’re so sound, and they play their tails off. They throw their heart out their on the field every single week all the way until the end, and you saw that tonight,” Kelce concluded.
Head coach Andy Reid’s team is chasing an unprecedented three-peat. After a 15-2 regular season, a Wild Card round bye, a Divisional Round win against the Houston Texans, and an AFC Championship win against the Bills, only the Eagles stand left in their way.
After the game, Mahomes also spoke, saying, “First off, I want to give all glory to God. Without Him, none of this is possible, and I truly mean that. It’s not about one guy; it’s about the whole entire team. That’s why we’re so special. It’s a team effort and a team football game.”

The Chiefs’ superstar revealed his plans after the game, saying, “I’ll have a good night tonight, but after that, we’ll be right onto focusing on the Eagles… This is a great football team. We faced them in the Super Bowl a few years ago. They’ve added players and gotten better. It’ll take our best to win.”
It’s going to be a fierce and exciting contest when the Chiefs meet the Eagles in what could be a historic day. Kelce was nowhere close to his usual self against Buffalo and would love to compensate for it by stepping up at the biggest stage.
