Travis Kelce Heaps Praise on Superstar QB Josh Allen After the Chiefs Ended the Bills Season

Despite another loss in the AFC Championship Game, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen has garnered a lot of respect, especially from his peers.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of those players who expressed his appreciation for Allen after the game.

Travis Kelce Says He Loves Josh Allen

Kelce has a new appreciation for Allen and the type of competitor he is after the Bills lost. In fact, Kelce said he loved Allen’s competitiveness.

“I f***ing love that guy,” Kelce told “The Athletic’s” Mike Silver. “He’s one of the most awesome competitors I’ve gone against, and I have so much respect for him. I’d rather play him in the Super Bowl, but we can’t, so the AFC Championship it is.”

This wasn’t the first time Kelce had praised the QB, he also praised Allen earlier in the week before their game. Kelce said he wanted to play quarterback like Allen.

“Josh is who I used to dream about being like in the NFL. Big, athletic quarterback. Big arm. Being able to be a dual-threat guy. Yeah, I never had the arm talent that Josh has, so they kicked me over to tight end,” Kelce said with a laugh.

“His ability to do everything [is impressive]. You can tell he’s really took the bull by the horns and really been their leader up front and channeled that. Guys come in and out of the building, and he’s the main piece in there making that thing go week in and week out. I’ve got so much respect for that guy.”

Patrick Mahomes Shares His Admiration for Allen

Despite the rivalry between the pair, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Allen have a mutual admiration for each other.

“I always feel for him. He’s a great player, an amazing competitor, and an awesome dude who I respect so much,” Mahomes also said to Silver. “I’m sorry it had to be us. But, you know, we compete, and someone has to win.”

The Allen/Mahomes rivalry is turning into this generation’s Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning rivalry.

For years, Brady dominated Manning in the AFC Championship Game until 2007, when the Indianapolis Colts made one of the largest comebacks in NFL playoff history to defeat Brady and the New England Patriots and finally make it to the Super Bowl.

That win changed Manning’s legacy and broke the New England curse. Similarly, Allen should heed that maybe someday it will happen for him and the Bills.
