Getting the No. 1 seed in the playoffs has its advantages. The Kansas City Chiefs have had their bye week and will play the divisional round in front of their home crowd at Arrowhead.
Travis Kelce is ready to take on the challenge of the Houston Texans and their young squad. The tight end is ready to face the heat and turn back the clock.

After a successful regular season, the Chiefs begin their campaign this Saturday.
While the world is waiting for the defending champions to take to the field in the playoffs, Kelce made an appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” to hype up the game even more.
“I’m fired up,” he said to McAfee.
“I’m feeling 22 all over again, baby, let’s go. I’m ready to rock and roll. The biggest thing for me is trusting Coach Reid. He’s been doing this a long, long time.”

“When it comes to getting the bye week, we’ve had a few of them over the course of my career. The big thing for me is making sure we put the pads on at least one time in the week. Make sure we get our physicality in and get that in check, play with some little pad level throughout the week, and on top of that put your feet up man, watch some football, and get ready for some playoff action.”
Kelce’s statements showcase his grit and commitment to taking on the biggest challenges. The 10-time Pro Bowler had previously cleared his team’s name for trying to avoid tough opponents and this appearance by him puts a cap on the entire controversy.
Kelce Has Trust in Patrick Mahomes
Many NFL defenses are first-hand witnesses to the Chiefs QB playing on a different level in the playoffs. Kelce, during his appearance on ESPN, highlighted that he and the team are banking on Patrick Mahomes’ nature.
“I’ve seen Pat weather the storm and he’s better because of it,” said Kelce. “When the team needs him the most he always steps up in ways that he hasn’t before and it happens year in and year out and it’s so much fun to be on a team with him.”
The Chiefs have faced Houston twice in the playoffs, being on the winning side both the times (including the infamous 2019 playoff contest in which the Chiefs erased a 24-0 deficit). The Divisional Round will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sat., Jan. 18.
