Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and global pop star Taylor Swift took the world by storm when they went public as a couple. Each has excelled at their respective crafts and goes viral when they show up to support one another.

Rumors about Kelce’s NFL future have swirled ahead of the Super Bowl. While he and the Chiefs are focused on the game and the attempt to win a third straight Super Bowl, his family has been addressed about their relationship.

Travis Kelce’s Father, Ed, Weighs in on the Relationship

“I think we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good time for the two of them without the NFL season, without ‘The Eras Tour,’ just them alone really connecting more,” Ed Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end’s dad, said on Australia’s “Today” — “I think that can only be a good thing.”

he added that Swift is “a joy to be around.”

Last year, during the NFL offseason, Swift was in the midst of “The Eras Tour,” one of the highest-selling world tours in history. As a result, much of the past year involved the two traveling.

The Chiefs star attended several of her shows and even appeared on stage. Swift has also attended many Chiefs games to support her boyfriend. However, this offseason will be the first time that neither will be in the midst of extensive travel for work.

“She’s learning much more about football,” Ed said. “She’s watching football with her dad a lot. She’s watching football whenever she can.”

Travis is now 35 years old and finishing up his 12th season in the NFL. The 10-time Pro Bowler finished the 2024 season with 97 receptions, 823 yards, and three touchdowns.

The yardage and touchdowns were each the lowest marks of his career outside of his rookie season, during which he only played one game.

Jason Kelce, Travis’s brother, retired from the NFL after last season, and many have questioned whether Travis will follow suit after the Super Bowl. The two co-host the “New Heights” podcast together and could presumably dedicate more time to their show once both have retired from playing.

“I feel like I still got a lot of good football left in me,” Travis said when asked about his future in the NFL. “But we’ll see what happens.”

What the future holds for Kelce and Swift remains to be seen, but for now, the focus lies on the Super Bowl and the Chiefs’ quest for history, with Kelce on the field and Swift presumably in the stands cheering him on.
