Travis Kelce may have made his biggest catch of 2023 by winning over Taylor Swift, who has now made appearances in two Kansas City Chiefs games.
The All-Pro tight end, however, has come clean about Swift mania on his New Heights podcast Wednesday alongside his brother Jason Kelce.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Travis Kelce Discusses Focus on Grammy Winner Taylor Swift
With the league increasing in popularity after Swift became a regular at Chiefs games, Kelce understands the NFL wants to show who’s watching inside the venue.
“I think everyone is overwhelmed. I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game,” Kelce said on the podcast he co-hosts with his older brother. “I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching.”

Still, he believes the camera focus on his new rumored companion for the last two weeks has become excessive.
“But at the same time, I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure. Especially my situation,” Kelce bluntly said. “I think they’re trying to have fun with it.”
How Did Jason Kelce Feel About Excessive Camera Focus on Swift?
Jason Kelce, a Super Bowl winner himself with the Eagles, chimed in with this belief: “I think the NFL is just not used to celebrities coming to the games.”
He then brought up one league that is used to big-name celebrities at its games with a camera focus coming in tow: the NBA.
“Basketball has it figured out,” Kelce said. “They’re all courtside, they’re sitting there, they show them once or twice, but they get back to the game.”
Jason believes that the NFL hasn’t taken that blueprint yet.
“But the NFL is like, ‘Look at all these A-list celebrities at the game! Keep showing them and showing them!’ But people are there to watch the game,” Kelce said.
Still, Jason was impressed with this number: More than 2 million female viewers for the Chiefs and New York Jets game, which he said “has got to be a record.”
But there’s the belief from both brothers that, while they clearly hope the league eases off on Swift’s attention, it’s not stopping anytime soon.
NFL Releases Statement on Swift Coverage
Sure enough, the league addressed the coverage of the multiple Grammy winning singer in the Country and Pop categories through People Magazine Wednesday afternoon.
And that includes a statement on the NFL changing its own bios on social media to theme it toward Swift.
“We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what’s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally. The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport,” the league statement read.
The statement ended with: “The vast majority of our content has remained focused on the game, our players and variety of other initiatives, including our Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, the international games and more.”
