Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter is the overwhelming favorite to win the prestigious Heisman Trophy (-4000 per FanDuel), and he has continued to haul in individual accolades. Hunter became the first player in history to win both the Bednarik Award (best defensive player in the country )and the Biletnikoff Award (best wide receiver in college football).

College football fans on X had mixed reactions to Hunter’s double win:
“The only thing he’s got going for him is that he plays two positions,” one fan tweeted.
“Not best CB but wins best defensive player? How does that work?” Another fan tweeted.
“Several players got robbed. Nash and Carter had IMO much better cases for these two awards. You want to give him the Heisman and POY fine but the DPOY and WR awards are not IMO we’re not his to win,” one fan tweeted.
“Not even the best receiver in his own conference,” one fan wrote.
“Neither was deserved. I have no problem if he is the Heisman, but these two awards were ridiculous,” one fan argued.
Heisman-Contending Travis Hunter Determined To Be Two-Way Player in the NFL
Hunter managed to play 1,356 snaps this season — 434 more snaps than any other player in the FBS. During a Friday interview with ESPN, he revealed that, despite the workload of playing on both sides of the ball, he never gets fatigued.
“There hasn’t been a game this year or last year where I felt like I’m too tired, I need to take a break, or I’m taking two minutes now to cool out,” Hunter said. “I don’t ever feel that way.”
The Heisman-contending star also revealed his determination to play on both sides of the ball in the NFL.
“I’m super confident, and I believe that I can do it at the next level,” Hunter said. “I’m not going to let anyone tell me that I can’t do something that I already done. They said I couldn’t do it in college, and I ended up doing it in college.
“A lot of people tell me I can’t do it in the NFL, but I’m going to still do it in the NFL. You know, a lot of people just let other people get in their ear, so they don’t let them do it, and some people don’t have the body type to be able to go both ways full-time.”
