Travis Hunter Sends Powerful Message Before 2025 NFL Draft
The 21-year-old’s dominance on both sides of the ball earned him a Heisman Trophy, and he’ll likely be one of the first players to get announced by commissioner Roger Goodell in April’s seismic event. While speaking about his thinking process on “The Travis Hunter Podcast” before Super Bowl 59, Hunter shed light on the hardest part of being on top consistently.

“Really no hard part. Because I love football that much. Everything I do is for a reason,” Hunter said on the show. “There really is no hard part. It’s not the hardest part, but the hardest part is probably just being the best version of me every day, every time.
“You know, I gotta be the same Travis consistently. I can’t be the Travis out man. Also like doing this today. I can’t be a lazy Travis. I can’t be, oh man… I don’t want to do it Travis. It’s probably the hardest thing is just proving for myself every day. Just got to be myself every day to everyone I come across to and for myself,” he added.
Indeed, the two-way star has been the star at Colorado, and under Deion Sanders’ guidance, he has been lethal. The wideout played a pivotal role in elevating the standards of the Colorado football program. Along with Shedeur Sanders, he led the Buffs to a 9-4 season and punched a postseason bowl game ticket.
On the offensive side of the ball, Hunter recorded 1,258 yards for 96 catches and racked up 15 touchdowns. The two-way talent recorded 35 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and four interceptions defensively. All these stats helped him finish the podium as a recipient of the Chuck Bendnarik and Biletnikoff Awards, among others.
Now, when he takes his skills to the next level, the Colorado standout is expected to go off the draft boards as a top-five pick. The Tennessee Titans possess the No. 1 overall pick; if they pass on a QB prospect, Hunter could be the most likely choice.
