The 2025 NFL Draft is shaping up to be a monumental one for multiple franchises. While the top of the class isn’t as quarterback-heavy as the 2024 variant, there is still a deep pool of talent to pick and choose from.
Leading that group is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and Colorado Buffaloes standout, Travis Hunter. A two-way threat, both as a cornerback and wide receiver, Hunter already has teams clamoring for him. However, he hasn’t been open about his scouting process so far, and that continued even at the NFL Combine.

Travis Hunter Mum About Teams Interviewing Him at NFL Combine
Since he declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter has been projected as a potential top-10 and even top-five pick. With multiple teams at the top of the draft — like the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars — needing help on both ends, Hunter could be a valuable addition to them.
But, so far, he’s been completely quiet about the teams that are interviewing him. At the Combine, Hunter was asked multiple times by reporters. However, each time, all it drew out of the superstar dual threat was, “Next question.”

Even when reporters tried to twist the question around, the answer was the same.
“Travis Hunter responding with ‘Next question’ every time he was asked whether he met with a specific team at the combine only makes him more elite. Big fan.”

The 6-foot-1 product out of Colorado has been a revelation at both positions and is seen by most as a top-five talent on both ends within this pool. However, how Hunter is utilized in the NFL could end up shaping his draft positioning.
According to PFSN’s scouting report on the former Jackson State standout, Hunter profiles better as a wide receiver.
Brentley Weissman wrote, “I personally think he has more upside as a full-time receiver. I have less questions about his rare athleticism translating on the offensive side of the football, and I think he can be an instant game-changing player at receiver.”
While he has his shortcomings — lack of true NFL-caliber size and strength, along with injuries thanks to his historically high workload — Hunter is also a surefire bet to be a game changer.
His combination of quickness, speed, and explosiveness is rare even in the NFL, and he truly qualifies as a generational athlete. Add to that football instincts that show maturity beyond his years, and you have a true prodigy.
Further, his ability to contort his body while maintaining excellent hand-eye coordination and elite ball skills make him a weekly highlight reel. With incredible speed, Hunter can be incredibly effective after the catch while also being a solid man-to-man cover possessing mirror-and-match ability.
Suffice it to say that Hunter will be a boon to any team that drafts him. But who is in contention for that spot might very well remain a mystery all the way to the 2025 NFL Draft on April 24.
