‘He Loves Me So Much’: 2025 NFL Draft Prospect Travis Hunter Reflects on His Endearing Relationship With Deion Sanders

2025 NFL Draft prospect Travis Hunter gushes over his relationship with Colorado head coach Deion Sanders dating back to his recruitment.

While Deion Sanders already has two of his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, on the Colorado Buffaloes roster, that didn’t stop him from making another unbreakable bond with their two-way star, Travis Hunter.

Coach Prime has given Hunter every opportunity to be who he is and play the ball on both sides rather than making him choose one.

Pat McAfee recently weighed in on their relationship on the field after talking to Sanders, saying, “All ball — loves ball, doesn’t drink, he streams, obviously he has a show and has an incredible personality.

“It’s like, this guy is obviously Heisman-worthy but great for football. We are very lucky that Travis Hunter went to Colorado with Coach Prime and has been allowed to do this [play both ways]. Most coaches … would be like, ‘You got to be one or the other.'”

Hunter and Sanders spent a couple of days in Texas together as the Colorado Buffaloes enjoy an off week; the two spend their time fishing, going on car rides, and feasting at Coach Prime’s house.

During Week 10’s “Big Noon Kickoff” appearance, Hunter also reflected on his off-field relationship with Sanders, saying, “It’s just an unbreakable son and father bond.”

“Even though we just met three years ago … he let me know that he wanted me to come play for him, but I can’t even explain it enough. I love him so much, and I know he loves me so much.”

Showcasing their heartwarming yet hilarious relationship, Hunter has been on the lookout to rob Sanders’ massive shoe collection, especially a Lebron James pair.

Coach Prime caught Hunter red-handed during his attempt at the robbery and said, “Look, let me get this straight. What are you doing in my office? … You’re just gonna come in here and shop, dawg?”

“I needed some shoes, bruh,” Hunter said.

“How do you need some shoes? You know you have contracts, money, oh my goodness,” Sanders said. “Those are vintage … You’re lucky I got two pairs. You are roguish, you do know that, right? Do you know what the word roguish means? It means you’re a thief.”

The Sanders-Hunter duo has led the team to bowl eligibility following an impressive 6-2 record so far this season; the Buffaloes will now face Texas Tech in Week 11.
