Travis Hunter Gets Listed As A Cornerback

On Thursday, the National Football League compiled a list of all 329 prospects invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.

Travis Hunter plays wide receiver and cornerback, and many fans still wonder what position the Colorado star will permanently take on in the league.

In the list released by the NFL, Hunter is invited under the position “cornerback” along with UCF’s BJ Adams, LSU’s Zy Alexander, Oklahoma’s Billy Bowman Jr., and more.

During an appearance on the Rich Eisen show, Deion Sanders also shared his thoughts on the choice that Hunter has to make about his position in the NFL.

When Rich Eisen asked him whether Hunter could handle playing on both sides of the ball and balance both offense and defense in the league, Coach Prime replied that he thought Hunter could handle that, and that if the team he would be going to can’t allow, that, shouldn’t draft him.

He advised Hunter’s potential future team and told them they shouldn’t draft him if they can’t give him the opportunity to play on both sides of the ball.

“Travis could definitely do that, “I mean, he’s gonna do that—or they shouldn’t draft him. Don’t do that. … Don’t draft him if you’re not gonna give him an opportunity to play on both sides of the ball.”

“Now you can be creative,” he continued. “You don’t have to do what we did with
him here and play every snap, but … let’s say he’s starting corner. He’s gonna
have to be in your nickel packages … or spread packages on the offense because
he’s gonna be probably your best receiver.

And you’re gonna look like an idiot with your best receiver is sitting on the bench, and you can’t get open, you can’t get the ball down the field. Or vice versa. Your best corner isn’t on the field, and they’re bombing you right now—and he’s on the sidelines with you.” Sanders stated.

This year’s event is set to take place in Indianapolis from February 24 through March 3.
