Having one of the best seasons of his career, Mario Edwards Jr was a shrewd addition to turn the Houston defense into an elite unit. Maybe he's finally found his NFL home after 10 seasons in the league and the Texans could look to bring him back on a solid deal.
Derek Barnett probably isn't going to crack a starter's role. But as a veteran defensive end to add depth behind Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, he's a perfect addition and Houston should look into bringing him back, at least for one additional season.
With injuries piling up, Eric Murray went to start 14 games on the season and a had a solid year all-around. As a depth piece once the starter's return, he could be a valuable name to have on the roster.
When on the field, the defense was elite as Folorunso Fatukasi became the permanent nose tackle for the Texans. Bringing him back should be a priority and with injury concerns, they should be able to snag him on the low.
An ACL injury didn't allow the Houston offense to get the boost they were expecting from Stefon Diggs. But if he can be brought back on a smaller contract, he might be able to show what allured the team to him in the first place.
