‘I May Keep The Braids’ – Top 2025 Draft Prospect Shedeur Sanders Hints at New Hairstyle for NFL Combine

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders plans to meet with NFL teams while he’s at the scouting combine, and he plans to do it in style.

Shedeur Sanders, regarded as one of the top two quarterback prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft, won’t participate in the position drills at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. Although he won’t be working out on the field, the QB plans to meet with NFL teams while he’s there.

Shedeur Sanders Keen on His New Hairstyle

Sanders has decided to meet with the teams in style. In a vlog posted on Feb 25, he shared:

“It’s early morning, just woke up, so my hair kind of frizzy. But I’m getting my hair redone before we go to the combine. I may keep the braids.”

Sanders debuted the braided hairstyle last week on his podcast, “2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders.”

He mentioned feeling nervous about showing the new look to his father, Deion Sanders:

“I was nervous, just seeing what Dad was gonna say. But I’m older now, so I gotta do me a little more. Dad seen it on FaceTime, and he really liked it on the inside. I could tell. He probably wish he could do that right now.”

Recalling how the braided style came to be, Sanders said, “We don’t have too many TVs in the house. We got a mirror, I was working out, I’m like, ‘You know, bro, I’m gonna get my hair braided. That’s how it came about. I’m lying, I just felt like doing it.”

Pro Football Network’s latest mock draft by Owain Jones projects Sanders to head to Sin City. The Las Vegas Raiders, with their No. 6 overall pick in the draft, will likely take their chance on the quarterback if he’s not selected by the teams ahead of the Raiders.

Jones’ analysis of the QB reads, “Shedeur Sanders has a pro-ready skill set but doesn’t offer the sky-high ceiling that others do. The steady Colorado passer has great accuracy, processing, and pace control to be a game manager in the NFL.”

Las Vegas, with needs on multiple positions, has been scouring the market for a franchise quarterback but hasn’t found a definite answer in the past few seasons.

Sanders, who finished fourth in the country with 4,134 passing yards and a 74% completion rate (the highest of all QBs in 2024), could be the answer the Raiders need.
