Tom Brady is getting into the rivalry spirit. After all, his No. 2 ranked Michigan Wolverines have an important game against Ohio State coming on Nov. 25.
But now, the Michigan legend and seven-time Super Bowl winner has gotten Rookie of the Year contender C.J. Stroud involved in making a stirring wager — and Brady is putting his Super Bowl rings on the line.
Details on Tom Brady’s Humorous Bet With Texans QB C.J. Stroud
On his Let’s Go podcast alongside Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, Brady delivered a tongue-in-cheek type bet with the Houston Texans standout, who starred for Ohio State before becoming the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
“If Ohio State wins … you get one of my Super Bowl rings,” Brady said to Stroud.
But what happens if Brady’s Wolverines beat Stroud’s Buckeyes?

“And if Michigan beats Ohio State, then you got to give me all your youth, your agility, your time in the 40 (yard dash), and all your future years in the NFL,” Brady said. “How about that?”
Stroud replied, “That’s a bet.”
Sounds like an attempt for Brady to try to make one last comeback — though in a joking tone.
What Were the Records Against Their Rivals? A Look at Brady vs. Ohio State and Stroud vs. Michigan
Do both Brady and Stroud have quality wins against their fiercest college rival?
Brady managed to play four seasons in Ann Arbor, Michigan. But he didn’t officially become a starter until the 1998 season — which was after the Wolverines’ undefeated run of ’97.
Brady’s 1998 contest with the Buckeyes was a rather forgettable one by Michigan standards. It was a 31-16 Ohio State romp on Nov. 21, 1998. On that day, Brady went 31 of 56 for 375 yards and threw one touchdown. But he was picked off twice.
Did Brady and the Wolverines redeem themselves the following season? They did, indeed, edging the Buckeyes 24-17 in the “Big House” of Ann Arbor. Brady went on to toss the final two touchdowns of the day — one to tie the game at 17-17 in the third and the final one with 5:01 left.
How did Stroud fare against the Wolverines?
Unfortunately for Stroud, he’s been on the losing end of his two rivalry games. And both were in a one-sided fashion.
Despite throwing for 394 yards and two touchdowns, Stroud witnessed a Michigan 42-27 romp over him and the Buckeyes in the Nov. 27, 2021 contest. And that was a contest that saw OSU lose an early 10-7 lead.
The following year in Columbus, Stroud threw for 349 yards and added two more touchdowns. The Buckeyes also jumped out to an early 10-3 lead. But the Wolverines rolled to the 45-23 rout.
Now, with Stroud creating a buzz across the NFL with his flashy play for the surprising Texans, it’s looking like he’s positioned himself for an early Super Bowl ring. But only if Brady does relinquish one to him after Nov. 25.
