Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens look to be the class of the NFL this season. As teams get ready for Super Wild Card Weekend, Jackson and Co. are not one of them, having earned themselves a first-round bye week.
The Ravens are the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are at home relaxing as the rest of the conference dukes it out. A large part of that is due to Jackson’s play, which has put him squarely in the MVP conversation.
While he’s getting noticed around the league by the voters and his peers, NFL legend Tom Brady has also noticed the QB and his play and was the latest person to heap praise on to the Ravens’ signal-caller.
Tom Brady Praises Lamar Jackson
Jackson’s play this season has been hard to ignore. The Ravens finished the season 13-4 after resting all their key players in the final week of the year, and have used this time to rest up for a Super Bowl run.
While Baltimore’s defense is an elite unit, this team would not look the same without Jackson doing what he does. And it’s something Brady calls out in their latest conversation.
“You know you’re the reason why people watch the NFL. Because guys like you and just having an amazing career.”

Jackson joined Brady on the latest episode of Let’s Go, the NFL legend’s podcast, where Brady was very complimentary of Jackson and his standing in the league.
“You know you’re the reason why people watch the NFL. Because guys like you and just having an amazing career,” Brady said to a flattered Jackson.
This was following Brady stating the first time he ever heard of Jackson came from the viral clip of the latter side-stepping and casually walking in for a touchdown during his high school days.

Brady is the greatest to ever do it, and someone that quarterbacks all across the world look up to and admire. For him to heap praise onto Jackson and tell him that he’s the reason people watch the game today holds merit.
Now if Jackson wants to tap into Brady mode, he’ll need to finish the job and bring the city of Baltimore a Super Bowl title.
Jackson for MVP?
With some potential candidates fading away as the season went on and Jackson seemingly rising to the occasion as the year grew older, it looks as if he may be the one running away with the MVP award.
There could be a case made for players such as Dak Prescott or even Christian McCaffrey, but when you’re the quarterback of the team with the best record, there’s a good chance you’re taking home the hardware.
If Jackson were to win, it would be his second career MVP award, with his first coming in 2019. But if you asked Jackson in an honest moment, he would probably tell you that he would trade it in for a Lombardi Trophy any day of the week.
Maybe this is the year he finally gets both.
