    Former Los Angeles Rams star running back Todd Gurley revealed some interesting information regarding Super Bowl 53. While discussing the contest between the Rams and the New England Patriots on the popular “Run Your Race” podcast, Gurley detailed how some players on the Patriots told him that the aforementioned matchup was one of “the easiest games we’ve ever played in.”

    What Did Todd Gurley Reveal About Super Bowl 53?

    Gurley explained how various players on the Patriots told him how easy the contest was against his Rams, a game in which the Patriots won by a score of 13-3.

    NFL analyst Carlos A. Lopez reposted a clip of the podcast on X, credited the profile ‘@RunYourRaceTL’, and provided a transcript of some of the key statements made by Gurley.

    “Todd Gurley says the #Patriots were so prepared to play the #Rams in Super Bowl LIII that a few defensive players told him it was the ‘easiest’ game they ever played,” the post was captioned, alongside Gurley’s key quotes.

    Despite being cut short due to injury, Gurley had an amazing NFL career. He amassed 8,336 total yards and 79 total touchdowns in only six seasons. His best year was in 2017 with the Rams, when he had 1,305 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 788 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. That season, he was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Pro.

    Though Gurley retold the story of a rather lopsided Super Bowl matchup, this year’s edition features a tight contest between two elite teams. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles combined for a 29-5 regular season record this year and finished as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds respectively in their conference.

    The Chiefs have star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce while the Eagles have QB Jalen Hurts and superstar running back Saquon Barkley on their respective offensive units. In addition, both sides have top defensive units and elite players on that side of the ball.

    As a result, the contest is expected to be a close one between two of the very best teams in the NFL this year. Super Bowl 59 kicks off on Feb. 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. ET from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
