Tennessee Titans vs. New England Patriots Pick, Prediction: Who wins in Week 12?

Who will come out on top of Week 12's Titans vs. Patriots game, and what is our pick and prediction for this critical AFC showdown?

The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots will face off in a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the NFL. The Patriots enter the contest on a five-game win streak, while the Titans have won five of their last six outings. One key element to this game will be which Tennessee team shows up. I’ll check out the NFL odds with a Titans vs. Patriots pick and prediction below.

Can the Titans’ offense overcome several key injuries?

The Titans’ offense has dealt with several injuries throughout the season. A few weeks ago, Tennessee lost RB Derrick Henry for the year. He accounted for the majority of the offense’s production, totaling 1,091 yards and 10 touchdowns on 237 touches over eight games.

The Titans own a 2-1 record since Henry’s injury. They boast impressive victories over the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints, although they’re coming off a loss against the lowly Houston Texans.

Tennessee doesn’t own elite depth at running back, as Darrynton Evans is also on the injured reserve. Jeremy McNichols is questionable, leaving the Titans with Adrian Peterson, D’Onta Foreman, and Dontrell Hilliard once again.

As if that isn’t enough to deal with, Julio Jones is already on the IR. A.J. Brown, Geoff Swaim, and Marcus Johnson are all listed as questionable at the moment, as well. Ultimately, Tennessee could be without Henry, Brown, and Jones — the “big three” who were expected to account for nearly all of the Titans’ offensive production in 2021.

    Titans vs. Patriots betting trends

The Titans and Patriots have found plenty of success against the spread (ATS) this season. They’ve both covered the spread in 63.6% of their games, ranking fourth in the NFL.

The Patriots have looked elite on this recent win streak. Over their last five games, they boast a 5-0 ATS record. They’re beating the spread by a ridiculous 21.7 points per game in those contests.

The Titans haven’t been as successful, failing to cover in each of their last two games. With that being said, they’ve covered in each of their five underdog contests this year, winning each outright. They’re beating the spread by an average of 14.3 points per game as underdogs in 2021.

    Titans vs. Patriots prediction

We’re going to have to sell high on the Patriots sooner than later, but this isn’t the week for that. New England’s allowing only 10 points per game over this five-game win streak, and they’ll benefit from several injuries on Tennessee’s offense.

The Patriots haven’t faced the stiffest of competition, but their success has been second to none in the NFL. On top of slowing down opposing offenses, their defense continues to find the end zone.

Normally, I’d look to sell high on a rookie quarterback as a large favorite against a playoff team, but the Titans can’t win if they can’t score. Tennessee’s defense has shown flashes in recent games, so the under may be the best bet in this game. It feels safer early in the week than a near-touchdown spread.

    Prediction: Patriots 24, Titans 13
