Titans QB Will Levis Gets Candid on His Job Security As Franchise Mulls Over No. 1 Pick of 2025 NFL Draft

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is committed to proving that he deserves to be the starting player in 2025. However, the 25-year-old Connecticut native is staying realistic about his future with the Titans as the team considers its options with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Will Levis Addresses His Prospects of Tennessee Titans’ Starting Quarterback Job

Levis had a rocky 2024 season marred by injuries and inconsistent play. Therefore, he understands the franchise’s need to explore alternatives. At Super Bowl 59, he expressed understanding of the team’s evaluation of other quarterbacks while emphasizing his own efforts to improve.

Titans reporter Jim Wyatt uploaded a clip via X featuring Levis, who acknowledged his prospects for the starting QB job.

“Every year, I don’t care what position you play, I feel like it is in their best interest, and they gotta do their due diligence to make sure they know who is out there, and evaluate who they feel they need to evaluate,” Levis said. “So, doesn’t offend me at all. And I know going 3-14 doesn’t get you job security any year, for any team.”

He added, “I know how it goes, and all I can do is put my head down and work to show them I can still be this team’s quarterback.”

Levis missed three games due to a shoulder injury and was later benched in favor of Mason Rudolph. His final stat line for the season included 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions with a 27.9 QBR. Meanwhile, Rudolph played eight games, finishing with 1,530 yards, nine touchdowns, and nine interceptions, earning a 55.6 QBR. The Titans ended the season at 3-14, finishing last in the AFC South.

Per PFN’s QB+ metric, Levis finished as the 34th-ranked QB (D- grade), while Rudolph finished 26th (D+ grade).

With the franchise holding the No. 1 pick, speculation around the team’s next move at quarterback has intensified. Meanwhile, new general manager Mike Borgonzi clarified that Levis still has a shot at keeping his job.

“We’re going to give every opportunity to Will,” Borgonzi said while scouting recently. “He’s still a young quarterback in the league, and he hasn’t had a lot of stability in terms of coordinators at Kentucky or this level. Sometimes it takes time. He’s been changing systems, really since college. Will has a lot of physical talent, and we’re going to give him every opportunity to play here.”

While Levis seems to understand the business side of the NFL, he appears determined to prove he’s the right man for the job. On the other hand, the Titans reportedly met with top draft prospect Shedeur Sanders during the Shrine Bowl. They are also evaluating Miami’s Cam Ward, which has raised many questions for their fans and followers ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
