What Time Is Thursday Night Football Tonight?

    • Date: Dec. 7, 2023
    • Start time: 8:15 p.m. ET

The 7-5 Pittsburgh Steelers host Thursday Night Football with backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky under center. With starting QB Kenny Pickett expected to miss some time with an ankle injury, it will be on the shoulders of Trubisky to keep this playoff push on track.

When asked about the opportunity to start in the prime-time matchup, Trubisky stated he had no intentions of backing down.

“I’m going to be aggressive. I’m going to take care of the football, and we’ve got to play better as an offense. We’re going against a good defense this week that is well-coached. So, we’ve got to do our job and execute.

“We want to be an aggressive offense. So whatever that means, taking care of football, we got to find ways to score points. That’s the bottom line.”

Thursday night will mark the first start for Trubisky this season and will look to keep the Steelers in the playoff hunt as they try and capture their eighth win of the season.

As for the New England Patriots, this has been a year to forget for the historic franchise. The Pats come into the evening with a 2-10 record and are currently the owners of the second overall pick in the upcoming draft.

While the defense has held their last three opponents to a total of 13 points, the team has gone 0-3 in those matchups. As a result, all eyes are on this offensive unit to see if they can carry their weight in Week 14.

New England opted to make a change at quarterback last week as they benched Mac Jones in favor of Bailey Zappe, and Week 14 looks to be another opportunity for Zappe to right the wrongs of this offense.

The Patriots did not score a point last week against the Los Angeles Chargers en route to their 6-0 loss. Now, they’ll be tasked with having better production this time out against a tough Steelers team in a hostile environment.
