Thursday Night Football Tonight Week 8: Who Plays, TV Channel, Start Time, Live Stream Options, and More

Who is playing Thursday Night Football tonight, what time does the game start, and how can you watch it on TV or by live streaming?

For the first time in what feels like forever, Thursday Night Football returns tonight with a matchup that might actually interest NFL fans. Both of these teams have started to tumble in the NFL standings, and this matchup could have huge implications when the end of the season comes along. Let’s look at who is playing tonight, what time the game starts, and how you can watch it.

Who Plays on Thursday Night Football Tonight?

    Teams
Baltimore Ravens vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Location
    Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay

Thursday Night Football tonight kicks off an interesting Week 8 slate of games when the Baltimore Ravens travel south to take on the suddenly struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tom Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, but in what is his 23rd season, the veteran passer has begun to look mortal. Brady has completed just 198 of 296 passes for 1,942 yards with eight touchdowns against one interception.

An abysmal rushing attack combined with significant injuries to the wide receiver corps has combined to give the Buccaneers the 25th-ranked scoring offense in the NFL, averaging just 17.7 points per game. Their offensive struggles have contributed to the team’s tough start to the season, as they now sit at 3-4 after a shocking loss to the clearly rebuilding Carolina Panthers.

On the other side of the ball, the Ravens have also struggled as of late but have done so with a bit more “jazz” than the Buccaneers. The team is scoring (6th in the league in scoring offense), and Lamar Jackson has kept things exciting. But they are still only 4-3 on the year, tied with the Cincinnati Bengals for the AFC North crown.

Jackson has not made many strides in the passing attack, averaging just 189.7 yards per game. But where he has made his presence known has been in the run game, with 66 carries for 510 yards and two TDs. Considered one of the early favorites for the Super Bowl, the Ravens will need to shore up their late-game struggles if they want to make any noise in the playoffs.

The Ravens opened as slight favorites (-1.5) on the road over on BetMGM, which isn’t entirely surprising considering the Buccaneers’ offensive struggles and three straight losses. Pro Football Network’s Betting Director BJ Rudell broke down this game in his Early Week 8 Betting Picks and Predictions.

“The Buccaneers no longer look fearsome. Whether it’s Tom Brady or his receivers or running backs or his offensive line, there’s enough blame to go around. The Ravens are the wrong team to face when you’re trying to right the ship. But with the 3-4 Bucs’ season on the line, for now, I’m willing to bet on a rebound.”
