The NFL Scouting Combine always produces a handful of jaw-dropping performances, but Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart may have just put together one of the most freakish athletic displays in history. Already considered a potential first-round pick, Stewart’s numbers in Indianapolis shattered expectations and cemented him as one of the most physically gifted prospects to ever test at the event.
Scouts and analysts knew Stewart was special, but few anticipated a performance that would place him in the top percentile of NFL Combine history, sending his draft stock soaring.

Shemar Turner’s Historic Combine Surpasses Myles Garrett, Montez Sweat
There have been plenty of elite edge rushers to pass through the NFL Combine, but Stewart’s testing numbers even surpass legends like Myles Garrett and Montez Sweat. Measuring in at 6’5″, 267 pounds, Stewart ran a blistering 4.59-second 40-yard dash, recorded a 40-inch vertical jump, and posted an absurd 10’11” broad jump — all numbers that would be elite for a linebacker, let alone a defensive lineman.

For context, Garrett ran a 4.64 and Sweat a 4.41, but Stewart’s size and raw explosiveness make his numbers even more impressive. His projected 10-yard split of 1.58 seconds is wide receivers fast, proving he possesses the kind of first-step quickness that NFL teams crave. Stewart isn’t just a great athlete — he’s a generational one.
Stewart scored an unofficial 10.00 RAS out of a possible 10.00, which ranked him first out of 1,802 defensive ends from 1987 to 2025 following his official 40-yard dash time.
Normally I wait before posting again, but Stewart was just close enough that it mattered.
We officially have our first 10.00 watch of the season!

In his scouting report on Stewart, PFSN NFL Draft analyst Dalton Miller called the pass-rusher a “dichotomy between a safe prospect and a dangerous one” with conceivably astronomical upside.
“His frame and violent potential are potentially only rivaled by J.J. Watt, who was arguably the best player in the NFL during his prime healthy years.”
Cowboys Eye Stewart as Ideal No. 12 Pick in PFSN Mock Draft
With his elite testing numbers, versatile skill set, and dominant college tape, Stewart has solidified himself as one of the premier edge rushers in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Teams needing an immediate impact defender won’t hesitate to call his name early on draft night.
Following his historic Combine performance, Stewart may widely be projected as a top-15 selection, with PFSN’s latest mock draft sending him to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 12 overall. With Micah Parsons already terrorizing quarterbacks, adding Stewart could give Dallas one of the most dynamic pass-rushing duos in the NFL.
The Cowboys have long prioritized elite athletes on defense, and Stewart’s ability to line up at multiple positions makes him a perfect fit for the hybrid scheme of new Dallas defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.
