‘Stop Being Stupid’ – Texans Fans Call Out Franchise for Prioritizing ‘Battle Red’ Uniforms Over Roster Building

    Published on

The Houston Texans fans are up in arms over the franchise showcasing their alternate uniforms after making no moves at the trade deadline.

The Houston Texans have dropped their alternate uniform for the season. The kit features a new ‘Battle Red’ helmet that matches the bullhorn shape on the jersey termed ‘The Bold Bull’.

However, Texans fans are in unison when calling out the franchise for making the announcement so close to a very quiet NFL trade deadline for Houston. They are making their demands loud and clear for what they really want from their team.

    Less Alternate Jerseys, More Trades

The Texans front office dropped their newest jersey offering to the fans on X (previously Twitter). “Candy paint dripping off the frame,” the Texans’ social media captioned.

However, fans were not kind to this new jersey. The general sentiment is that the franchise is dealing with a whole host of injuries and not enough protection for quarterback C.J. Stroud, they made it clear that they want trades to happen. “Make a f***ing move you idiots we need O-line help stop being stupid,” tweeted one fan.

“I’m a lot less interested in the stupid uniforms than I am in you guys obtaining an average functioning left guard. Stop abusing C.J. Stroud,” another responded.

“That isn’t going to help CJ in the pass protection game.”

“Wish y’all would make a trade or whatever,” added one fan.

“You guys this is getting embarrassing! Please us fans want to know how our CJ is going to get protection,” one more fan added.

“Do something to help the team!!!!!” tweeted a frustrated Texans fan.

It is clear to see why Texans fans wanted to add help to their offensive line. Pro Football Network’s Dallas Robinson currently has the Texans’ o-line ranked 23rd in the league saying:

“While the Texans have been much healthier this year, the results have arguably been worse. Sure, Laremy Tunsil, Juice Scruggs, and Tytus Howard have been banged up here and there, but they’ve all played at least 500 snaps.

This was the offensive line Houston wanted, but it’s not working. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has been sacked 30 times, tied for the second-most in the NFL, while the Texans’ front five ranks 28th in pass- and run-block win rates.

Former first-round left guard Kenyon Green had already been benched this year and will head to injured reserve after dislocating his shoulder in Week 9. Kendrick Green took over on Thursday night, but Jarrett Patterson could become Houston’s left guard moving forward.”

Stroud Wants the Texans to Wake Up

After last week’s shock defeat against the New York Jets, the Stroud did not hold back from calling out his team.

“I would say we just got to honestly play football better, execute better, stop pointing fingers, and realize that at the end of the day, this is not winning football,” he said.

The Texans are 6-3 sitting at the top of their AFC South division. Pro Football Network’s Playoff Predictor currently gives them an 85.88% chance to make the playoffs, with a more than 75% chance to win their division.

However, the 23-year-old understands the nature of the race to the playoffs. He wants the squad to be their best next week against the Detroit Lions and beyond.

“I believe this isn’t the end, but it’s definitely a great wakeup call for us to tighten up the ship,” he said. “This is now playoff football, it’s November-December, this is the chunk of our schedule, a lot of great teams we are playing on prime time and we got to be able to find ways to win.”
