Terron Armstead is banged up yet again.
The Miami Dolphins’ excellent but oft-injured left tackle hurt his ankle while blocking on Raheem Mostert’s one-yard touchdown run just before halftime of Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders. Here is the latest information.
Latest Terron Armstead Injury Update
The Dolphins officially listed Armstead as questionable to return, and while McDaniel said Armstead was available to return if needed, the team elected to keep him out of the entire second half. Armstead appeared to get leg-whipped by a Commanders lineman while engaged in a block at the goal line.

Even a minor injury would be a frustrating development for a hugely talented player who cannot stay healthy.
He’s appeared in just six of the Dolphins’ 12 games this year — and 18 of 29 over the last two seasons — due to a series of injuries.
Armstead spent four games on injured reserve earlier this season with a knee injury, but Sunday’s start was his fourth-straight game with an appearance — the longest healthy stretch he had all season.
Armstead’s backup is Kendall Lamm, who has played at a high level while filling in for Armstead extensively this season. But he’s also dealing with an injury (back), so Mike McDaniel sent out first-year pro Kion Smith at left tackle to start the second half.
Smith has been with the organization since 2021, but he did not see action in an NFL game prior to this season.
Armstead wasn’t the only injury on the offensive line. Later in the game, Dolphins right guard Rob Hunt aggravated a hamstring injury, ending his day. Lester Cotton took his spot in the lineup.
