Tennessee Titans Free Agency Tracker: Signings, Rumors, News, and More

The Tennessee Titans have made some changes since the season has ended, and with important decisions looming, we look ahead to free agency.

Fresh off a disappointing 6-11 season, the Tennessee Titans head into the new league year with changes at the top. It is no longer Mike Vrabel as the head coach but Brian Callahan now calling the shots.

With an important offseason underway, Callahan and Co. have tough decisions to make as they look to get the Titans back in the mix for the AFC crown. With veteran players set to hit free agency in under a week, things will continue to look different for the Titans, but change doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

Let’s look at the latest free agency news and rumors coming out of Nashville, Tenn.

Tennessee Titans Free Agency News and Rumors

Titans Have Plenty of Cap Space

When it comes to available cap space, there is only one team in the NFL that currently has more than the Titans. According to Spotrac, at the top are the Commanders who currently have more than $96 million in cap space at their disposal. However, just one spot behind them is the Titans with north of $80 million.

All the available cash to spend sets up a good opportunity for the new staff to be able to bring in pieces to help implement their new culture. Callahan comes from Cincinnati where he had Joe Burrow and a good group of weapons in his offensive attack, and the idea of him looking to do all he can to bring a similar feel to Tennessee seems realistic.

    Derrick Henry on the Move

It was clear in Week 18 when Derrick Henry grabbed the microphone to address the crowd that his time with the Titans was over, but now more than ever with free agency on the horizon, the reality of Henry moving on is mere days away.

Where Henry ends up is unknown now with many teams seemingly being good fits for the big running back’s services. Much like with the changing of the head coach and a change to younger pieces such as RB Tyjae Spears, it is a changing of the guard for the Titans.

    Titans in on WR Market

While Mike Evans ultimately re-signed back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dianna Russini of The Athletic let the world know who else was going to be in on Evans if he did become available, and the first team she mentioned was the Titans.

“Multiple teams had Mike Evans on their free agent WR board and were hoping to land him in free agency. Based on several team sources: Titans, Rams, Chiefs, Patriots, Giants, Panthers, Falcons, and Jaguars.”

While the Titans and the rest of these teams missed out on Evans, it should be expected that Tennessee will be active in its pursuit of a wide receiver once the free agency window opens.
