Tee Higgins Injury Update: Latest News on the Cincinnati Bengals WR

The Cincinnati Bengals are struggling to get anything going on offense. Things won't get any easier after WR Tee Higgins suffered an injury in Week 4.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is not on the sideline for the start of the second half. What’s the latest injury update on the Bengals’ WR2?

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

    Tee Higgins Injury Update

Higgins had issues with cramping Monday night against the Rams and went into the locker room to get an IV before returning. It’s a warm day in Nashville, with a game-time temperature of 84 degrees, so it was initially unclear how severe Higgins’ injury was.

However, the Bengals subsequently announced Higgins has a rib injury and is out.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor did not offer an update after the game, said they are still looking at it. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Higgins fractured his ribs and could miss some time.

Higgins had two catches for 19 yards on four targets. His departure should mean more snaps for Trenton Irwin or rookie Andrei Iosivas.

Higgins is in the final year of his rookie contract and is scheduled to become a free agent in 2024. The Bengals failed to reach a long-term extension with Higgins before the regular season got underway.

If Higgins misses time with a serious injury, his free agent stock will undoubtedly be affected.

    Fantasy Fallout From Higgins’ Injury

Higgins was seemingly quickly ruled out after suffering a rib injury during this contest. If Higgins is forced to miss significant time, Joe Burrow would need to have his fantasy ranking altered due to not having one of the best young WRs in the NFL.

If we get news that the Higgins’ injury is severe, Tyler Boyd becomes an interesting pickup off waiver wires due to the volume that he would inherit. With Irv Smith Jr. already missing this week’s game, it would suddenly quickly become Ja’Marr Chase and Boyd as the only proven receiving weapons in this offense.

We’ll continue to update the fantasy fallout from this situation as more and more news trickles out.
