The Week 17 waiver wire is like every other week at the tight end position: there just isn’t much out there. Waiver adds at TE are very much an exercise in chasing your tail and hoping to catch it just once. With that in mind, here are some potential targets for fantasy football managers on the wire this week.
Top TE Waiver Wire Targets in Week 17
Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers (19% Rostered)
Another week, another double-digit outing for Tucker Kraft. The rookie has been remarkably consistent for three straight weeks, catching exactly four passes in each game for totals of 64, 57, and 60 yards.
Even in a tough matchup against an elite tight end defense, Kraft came through. He’s emerged into quite the reliable option and will remain so next week. Pick him up.
Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Chargers (42% Rostered)
Another week, another solid outing from Gerald Everett. He’s now scored at least 8.4 fantasy points in five straight games. I don’t know about you all, but I’ve certainly got a couple of teams that would love 8+ fantasy points from the tight end position.
The Chargers close out the fantasy season against the Broncos, who allow the most fantasy points per game to tight ends. Even with Easton Stick at quarterback, Everett has proven he is good for 4+ catches a game. Against the Broncos, perhaps he finds the end zone. Grab him if you need a TE.
Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans (32% Rostered)
After toiling away at a level below mediocrity all season, Chigoziem Okonkwo caught all six of his targets for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks.

Next week, the Titans get a Texans defense that struggles against the tight end. Okonkwo could be startable and is worth adding if you need a tight end.
Which TE Should You Roster in Fantasy Football?
Should You Roster Tucker Kraft or Kyle Pitts?
One of these guys consistently sees 6+ targets, is his team’s clear primary tight end, and plays over 90% of the snaps. The other is Kyle Pitts.
Pitts rewarded fantasy managers who started him last week by catching a touchdown. Hooray! He still played just 72% of the snaps and saw a mere four targets for the second consecutive game.
Pitts has been serviceable recently, largely because he’s scored in two of his last three. Kraft has been startable for four of the past five weeks.
Kraft is the better fantasy tight end overall, but Pitts has the superior Week 17 matchup. The thing is, matchups don’t really matter for the Falcons because they will be content to just run the ball. Pitts is still only going to see 4-5 targets. Give me Kraft for Week 17.
Should You Roster Gerald Everett or Dalton Kincaid?
I really, truly believed that Dawson Knox’s return wouldn’t negatively impact Dalton Kincaid that much. I’ll take the L.
Kincaid hasn’t hit double-digit fantasy points since Week 11. Over the past two weeks, he’s seen exactly two targets in each game, catching just one pass for seven yards. I don’t know how fantasy managers can trust him against the Patriots in Week 17.
Meanwhile, Everett keeps chugging along. He doesn’t have anywhere near the upside of Kincaid. But his floor is significantly higher. Unless you really need a hail mary, Everett is the better option.
