Taysom Hill Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the dynasty rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty value of Taysom Hill.

Taysom Hill’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

I have no idea what we’re supposed to do with a guy like Hill. There’s never been any player like him.

It’s a bit ridiculous that he’s even eligible at tight end, given how little he plays the position. Hill is mostly used as a quarterback or a straight wide receiver. He ran just 6.8 routes per game last season. What other tight end is running those few routes?

For fantasy managers, Hill has utility. It’s undeniable. He scored 11 touchdowns last season. Anytime a tight end-eligible player scores a touchdown, he’s basically a TE1.

Hill averaged 9.1 ppg last season and finished as the overall TE12. Now, to be fair, Hill completely torched fantasy managers plenty. He had six games under 5.0 fantasy points.

Hill also didn’t really average 9.1 ppg. He scored 23.4% of his fantasy points in Week 5 alone. He averaged 7.4 ppg in his other 15 games played. Those are low-end TE2 numbers — unstartable.

Nevertheless, Hill belongs on dynasty rosters. His goal-line role raises his weekly ceiling at a position devoid of many reliable options. And the Saints are committed to using him after giving him $10 million a year.

Hill isn’t set to hit free agency until 2026, at which point he will be 36 years old. Given that his NFL career didn’t start until he was 27, Hill should be able to produce for the remainder of his current contract.

The gadget athlete is far from a must-have dynasty asset, but he’s useful enough to roster. I wouldn’t go out of my way to acquire him, though. It’s abundantly clear the Saints have no desire to use him at quarterback outside of a couple of plays each game. As a pure “tight end,” Hill is just a guy with weekly touchdown upside. If he’s your best tight end in dynasty, you can and should be looking to improve.

We have Hill at TE30 (No. 210 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. At some point, I’d push the button on him in dynasty startup drafts simply because of his weekly ceiling.
